I haven't been keeping up with any of the Next-Gen until recently, and I think I've decided to try and get a Wii at some point before Christmas (if I can manage to find one in stock). I was reading that it's Wireless capable, or can use a USB thing, much like the DS, to access the Net 24/7 to get updates and so forth. My question is, is it a separate Wi-Fi adapter to the DS? If so, is it even released yet? I haven't been able to find one listed under accessories anywhere.

You can only access online features with a wireless router.
And I have one. <3
Rawr.
I'll clear it up. The Wii comes with ability to connect to standard 802.11b and g wireless networks. If you don't have a wireless access point you can then hook a little device up to it's USB port that allows you to plug in a standard network cable (CAT-9 I believe, or is it CAT-5? I always forget <_< damn cable names... anyways it's the cable that plugs into most standard network slots). It's more or less an adapter, not sure if it comes with a network cable as well, or if you have to find a nice long cable to use instead.
Seriously though, for about the same price you can find a cheap access point and just hook it up to your router and then you don't have to worry about wires.

If all else fails, I have some nice long cables. Had to buy one for my brothers' to run to their 360 ages back.
