No you don't need to see all 4 heart scenes. I only saw 3 and I proposed to Rock on Winter 2nd and it worked for me. Just give Marlin a lot of giftsstardustandsunshine wrote:I'm pretty sure that in the girl version, you must see all four cutscenes before you can propose.

If she's used any of the third-slot controller cheats, a few people over at the GameFAQs message boards a long time ago claimed that introduced a glitch where Marlin wouldn't take the blue feather; several people tested it and a few of them couldn't get him to take it. But if he's the one with the most hearts and she hasn't proposed to anyone by the end of the year he'll be the one who comes to propose to her. Just make sure he has more hearts than Rock, or it'll be Rock who comes to her. (Rock dislikes goat milk and failed recipes, and I think also fish? So just cook up a lot of things you don't need--but make them the wrong way--and give the "failed cooking" to Rock if you need to get his affection down.)
