How do I feed the dog?

Gonichiwa everyone!
I have Masaru at 4 hearts (Julia at 3 hearts) and have bridge 2 built already, but still no luck at triggering the "free dog event", even on a rainy day. Does anyone know how to trigger the event (time, day, etc.)? Also, how do I feed the dog? Do I keep the dog at the house? If so, how can I feed the dog? Please let me know. Thank you

You have to be friend with Masell (get to 2 hearts, i'm not sure but i remember that i got the dog when she had 2 hearts) after 2 hearts, you have to wait for raining or snowing days and then you cross the brigde behing the forest (don't worry about the time and day.. just make sure that is raining or snowing!) and you will get the event from the lost dog..
after you get the dog, Masell will sell pet's food.. you will have to feed your dog or horse everyday.. the food cost 10g per one..

Thanks for the reply. But I still have a question... Which forest do I enter? Through a bridge #2? Though I have Masaru at four hearts, even on a rainy day, I still haven't triggered the event. I'm getting worried.

Hmmm, what do you give Masell to befriend her...? Every time I try and give her a present, she won't take it...
