Upgrade your house. After you upgrade them for the second time, then the option for the basement, toilet and others will be available.

After you have upgraded your house twice, the option will be available with Gotz....

I have a question about the basements... so the Seasonal Suns control the weather down there? And you can grow crops and stuff? And trees, if you plant them there, they don't bear fruit, right?

I reccomend you that you dont plant any trees down in the basement because they dont grow. It's a waste of time and seeds.

The trees grow in the basement but they never bear fruit.
