And personally I don't think she and Karen are alike. Maybe just a bit, but come on, Karen is nice from the beginning, you don't have to know her better to discover her better side. If we're looking at both Flower Bud Village and Mineral Town, then I agree with Taiyaki - Karen from the first game was more similiar to Nami.

She was my first choice in AWL and she is one of my favorite in HMDS.
Her appeal is unique. Instead of being nice right off the bat like most of the girls, you have to get to know her to see how loveable she is. And honestly, HM needs a tomboy instead of a bunch of girly girls.

Not every eligible girl has to be outgoing, blindly friendly and girly. I'm sure she'd be a lot more likable character if there was actual character development in the game for her - really, an introverted traveller, apparently an intellectual in AWL: they could do so much more with that.

B'sides it's nice to have a fellow androgyne into the HM mix.

I like Nami's personality. I think she's the quiet, intelligent type, she reminds me a bit of Daria (If you've ever seen that show) only angrier, lol. Her son's also my favorite, red hair is so adorable
