A little question with making friends...

I gave Melody a wild grass and she liked it. I checked my friend status and the points didn't go up...
Do the points go up every 5 or something like that?

yeah, they don't automaticlly like you the first day you give them stuff.

I've yet to give anyone gifts and I'm on Spring 13 (waiting to do it on the 18th for the festival) and multiple people have 1 FP for me. It happens gradually.

Unless I'm mistaken, simply talking to them raises their FP a little bit.

It does. But for some odd reason, Sharron has one FP for me and only talked to her once when I accidently went too far west and hit Kasmir Ruins instead of Toros Cave.
