Changing the level of your sword doesn't make it any stronger. It just increases it's worth, so unless you're going to sell your sword, there really isn't much point.

it does increase damage i had at lvl 12 a wind sword that did the damage it said after i got it to lvl 100 it did 80-85 damage tho it didnt say on the stats it did shw and say in battle
