what all can you trade

You can trade everything except key items like tools. Trading things will make them stronger and ofcourse they will raise their selling price.

so i can trade ore
cause all i get is scrape iron

If you want good ore then you have to do what i did:
run run run avoiding the first 3 devices of the first cave and when you reach the forth where the gremlin comes out make it follow you to as much down as you can and then run fast up. It will then stay down there and your free to both mine all the ore that was behind him and destroy his machine. I got all my iron and bronze from that place.
