the chinese treasure hunter is probably the coolest character idea they have come up with yet. i totaly love the idea of her. can't wait to see how she is in the game!

that seems to be the trend with HM games. i haven't really played anythign newer than BTN character-wise (FoMT is pretty much the same way), but that was a huge step down from the awesomeness of the characters actually having personalities in 64, and i've heard the newer games are the same or worse. sad.

I would argue that Muffy has a fairly well-established personality, with insecurities and everything.

They go by their title. It's not like, that big of a deal. It makes sense in Japanese, a language in which you rarely call people by their first name to begin with, and where a professional title is an even more respectful thing to call someone than a family name.

Majou-sama, or "Witch" with the (ultra-respectful) "sama" honorific, was translated as "Witch Princess." (I think the Princess part is a stupid addition, but.) Little Witch is Majou-chama, which is a sort of child-ized, "cute" speech pattern version of the same "-sama" honorific.

That would be correct, their names are Will and Suiren. Suiren seems to be of chinese heritage judging by her name and attire. A rather pleasant change as compared to Won who was a very horrid stereotype.

I dunno. I think she's just as bad of a chinese stereotype as won, with the whole stereotypical Qipao and everything. But it seems like she'll have a bit more character than Won, so that'll be good. :]

(btw, would her name in Hanzi be 燧人?)

Something fairly hilarious on the topic of Suiren -- read the screenshot where she's speaking, if you speak Japanese. She has an accent. They put half of what she says in katakana.
