If the DS version was not so full of bugs and glitches and the like then it would have been perfect. The idea's and new mechanics in the game was brilliant. A few extra things here and there would have made it even better but overall, if it was not for all the glitches and bugs, it would be a superb game.
Save the Homeland was a turn off. The whole no marriage thing, and a few other things, was...Well, Sucky.
Back to Nature was good. But they cut so much out and changed so many things that for the keen Harvest Moon players, it left a bit to be desired. But nonetheless, Back to Nature had some neat mechanics, like the Hot House, and is a great Harvest Moon game for Harvest Moon newbies.
A Wonderful Life was...Extremely...Dissapointing. The very few events (4 to be exact.) absolutely sucked. 10 days per season...Not nice. Needless to say whilst A Wonderful Life was a great addition to the Harvest Moon family with the new mechanics and the fact it was a "Brand new ultra cool next generation game" for it's time, but for long time Harvest Moon fans there were quite a few dissapointing things about it.

I would probably have to say A Wonderful Life because to me the world felt too spread out, time didn't stop indoors, and it was just kinda dull in general. In the female version, the husband selection was horrible...
The second would definitely be Save the Home Land. Horrible story line. Everything else was great, but how the story was setup. I liked how they did the graphics. The cell shaded look was really nice. I liked all the characters in the game (sexiest main character in any Harvest Moon IMO). I liked how the world was setup too. Stupid crappy story and lack of marriage... so killed it.

I say AWL, but I also have to disagree with some people here, well, yeah, time didn't stop indoors and it was 10 days a season, but it was because the days were really long Dx
So my only complaint was, there was too much time to do things, but not many things to do, in my last years, the only thing that kept me playing was fishing and getting recipes and it was not very fun <:3
Also, I'm really dissapointed that most people hate HM STH for the romantic aspect, these games are about farming after all, and some endings gave you clues about romances with other female characters that could end in marriage~
I also think it was a very good and original idea for the Harvest Moon series.
But opinions are opinons and I can't change them~ I wish I could though xD
