I played a few of the handheld HM games including RF, DS, 1-2 on GBC, and FoMT, and briefly touched some of the console ones (though I will play the SNES one soon)

How would this game rank in comparison? What kind of pets do you get, and how is the farming aspect?

Anything else interesting bout this game?

Also - how's marriage and children? Still one child? Does your family ever help farm? How far does/do the child/children grow?

right now, the game has only been released in japan, so, i think you will find very few people who have the game.

I know, but those who do have it have a lot of time to find the topic and reply by the time I end up getting it when it's released =p

how is the farming aspect?

interesting, really
i like how the number of water and sun now play influence to your crops
now it's become harder to raise your crops, not to mention crops rank etc

then you can grow paddy again like in GBC3, and hothouse too
too bad, no hybrid, since i think it can give some enrichment to the farming aspect here in Island

same old stereotypical marriage candidates, family helps with nothing, same type of festivals/mostly competition (though some are pretty ok, i guess), same type of animals/livestocks, mining become harder although it worth much....(i dislike mining, but to make a great farm, of course you must mining pretty often in this game)

uhh nah.....at least for me....
but well, that heart events system can be pretty interesting (if you answer wrong youll be faced with a different heart events, make it more complex compares the other series),
so does that suteki stone system, although it might be pretty hard at beginning

i dunno, i dont really find Island interesting, i played it only until my summer 1st year (still 4x% my shortest record playing hm games lol)
then after that i stopped, sometimes im playing my bro's data though (he's already in summer 3rd year, with 9x% completion) just to see around and see how things work

if Kiranaka will be likely same like island, i suggest you to getting that one though, since it seems to offer more features
again it still my own opinion, some people find island is an interesting game, but not for me

Water/Sun influences crops differently? Sounds interesting =D

What about cooking, and how many crops per season are there in comparison to the other games?

this game sounds more interesting, can't wait til it's out in america.

no idea as its not out anywhere but japan but from what ive heard i think itll be a great game.

There are 5 crops per season (Spring - Fall).
Only 3 are initially available.
The 4th unlocks when a certainresident comes to town.
The 5th unlockswhen you ship over 100 units of a certain type of grain (wheat, buckwheat, or soy.)

Unfortunately, you cannot grow flowers, which makes making medicines difficult.
