yes, but its not like the two different games are intended for the same audience.
one is for japanese speaking audiences, and the other is for english speaking audiences.
but i do understand what you're saying. (i bought MORE friends of mineral town as well as friends of mineral town. but, i didn't buy pokemon diamond AND pearl)
