It's in the first I believe, with 4 after that before the 1st torieste shard. I'd assume each slot is for one book, up until the 5th boss. Then with those you do something... I'll probably restart my game soon and play as Aria to test it out.

that book is from Kyle, i believe since you got it already from the first time you played as your kid
oh and i forgot to said it yesterday, but behind that dragon door is another boss, will be different depends on the dungeon (forgive me if i actually read about this question in another topic), the 5th undeground temple will be the dragon...

I just finished (by just, I mean last night) collecting all shard from all dungeons, I talked to Barret and we had a long conversation, some purple thing surrounded us,. and it disappeared, and now he seems angry at me. I checked all the dragon doors, and they didn't open.... so... now what? D:

Hmmmm... I wonder... I finally beat the boss in padoba... But I don't know how to get rid of the statues...

Which one?

There are three of them... One is blocking this pathway near a water filled room, another is the first area with grim reapers to the north, and I'm not sure about the third one...

For the grim reapers, 4 aquamarine (in Torieste and Blessia), then 3 diamond.
One of them requires you to till all of the field completely, another one involves first killing those blur blob things that leave behind ice, then 4 haigobaiku at night on Ice Road, and then slime monsters behind the 4 aquamarine one. (this is the one in boss room)

I got all the shards and talked to Barret.... hmmmm.... I wonder what I do now....

I found out what to do TJF, go to the library and examine the book cases to get a book.
