Is it me or are the lead players a little to....plain?

Is it me or did they focus more on the villagers than on the lead players? I mean the villagers have so much detail and Mark and Chelsea look like chibis.

It's just that Mark and Chelsea are like ... I mean, we've always had them. Mark, Chelsea, Jack, (Celia? her name escapes me at the moment)... they're all basically the same.

It's good for the main characters to be as plain as possible because it makes the player feel more like the character. It's like a blank canvas for the player. Or like being inside the game almost.

In games with main characters who already have personalities have a preset story. In games where the main character seldom speaks is where you're supposed to choose the storyline you follow. Like Jade Empire or KOTOR.

So in terms of games like Harvest Moon, plain main characters are good.

It would be cool if you could customize your hair, eye, skin color and clothing... but I guess it was too much work for the developers

details? like pic when theyre talking? or because of their clothing are too simple?
you cant see your own character pic in kimishima, but you can see mark if youre playing as chelsea or vice versa
because in my opinion, all of them are chibi
