I see that there are no other requirements said in the website. All you have to do is buy the Double Bed. After that, go to bed, but then the girls will come in your house and it'll start the event.

that's not true; i've gotten the large bed event 3 times and the cooking one 7 times. the random events occur as often as they randomly can.
