I read on a review of the game that you can breed horses and raise some different animals in the game other than just the regular. Is this true?

what benefit would you gain from raising horses/dogs/cats/otheranimals that dont product on a daily base/weekly base?
pigs for meat? sure, lets make a HM in which you kill pigs to sell meat

As for raising other animals -- once again, Island features only one horse, one dog, cows, sheep, and chickens, but Tree of Peace allows you to raise and breed horses, cows, sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, silkworms and ostriches. (Yes, silkworms and ostriches.)
