So I entered a cheesecake that had S milk, S cheese, and a high A egg, and still didn't win the cooking festival. So...what would win, if an S cheesecake didn't?

... was it a dessert-themed cooking festival?

Then why would you play a Japanese game and expect to win?

If you're using the wrong theme, you're obviously not going to win. If you have no way of understanding the theme, don't complain when you don't win. (Or instead of making snide comebacks to people answering your question, it's possible to just say "oh that must be the problem.")

you have the actual point of view "why would someone ask stuff like that if he obviously has no idea what the hell he is doing"
let me tell you, the internet is FULL of idiots and retards
and OBVIOUSLY, we will have a lot of such threads here
i bet my hdd that he has no idea what the actual theme of the contest was

Hmm...calm down...you don't want to start a rant...oh and if you don't know what the theme is save before going to the contest and do the contest and see if they made desserts...? see easy as pie...

Goodness.

Well, I do read some Japanese (I was taking a 500 level course last semester, but I realize this makes me pretty far away from being fluent) but you know how sometimes you skim over things. Also, you get to choose what you submit, so I figured it'd be alright. I didn't really notice on the calendar in the house if it said there was a theme (which I suppose it might've) but when it went to the contest part, everyone else had desserts as well. So I can't imagine that's what's up (also the person who also submitted a cake won instead of me).

(Sorry to have unwittingly started such an absurd internet fight over a video game?)

(edited to say)
Okay, upon further inspection, it doesn't say anything on the calendar, although maybe someone like Pierre to whom I am married said something about it earlier and I skimmed it (never a good idea, I realize), which would indeed have been my fault, though there is no way of knowing about it now. I just went on with my day (it is now summer). I was asking more out of curiosity, if there was something that often wins etc.

Also, sorry. I um, wasn't the one to make the snide comment? *points to her name verses the poster of the snide comment*
...not that you'll likely see this, but I thought I'd try

Ohhhhhh, my bad my bad on the snide comment, then -- people with no avatar, ag, all look alike... I apologize for that. (I wouldn't call this an internet fight, though, lol)

Oh -- that's very, very odd, then. I'm not sure what to tell you. ... maybe Pierre hates cheesecake?

Maybe. I don't know. Maybe because we are married he cannot allow me to win? It is a mystery! I guess I'll try again next year.

I read somewhere that to win you have to make something that's arranged.

The cooking festival is like super hard to win in this game... I've done it for like three years with high quality entries and I haven't won (And yes, I KNEW what the catagories were saying...)

And also, this post is just another perfect example of how needlessly vicious people on this forum can get... Come on, guys... where's the love?

You guys are the only ones being obnoxious. :\ This is spam.

If you'd actually READ the conversation, the issue occurred when Fishie A asked a question, I answered it, Fishie B made an insulting comment, I took offense, and Fishie A clarified that they were the one who asked, not Fishie B. Fishie B just caused confusion. And I apologized for my remarks when I realized what had happened.

Don't be so high-handed about something you don't know about. This was necromanced, as well.

I understand how my comment could have been considered "Dickish" but in reality it would have been said with a mildly joking tone, if you can imagine that.

I meant no harm to either party ^^;;
