It is said that in data (in the menu that show your relationship with the bacheloretes and town's people) Ariella heart color is as same as the other bacheloretes. The normal town's people heart are orange while the marriage candidates are red. Well have to wait until i unlock ariella though

Way to name the only two games with a built-in choice between girl or bod (AWL:SE was also uneven, 4 bachelorettes to 3 bachelors)

DS is also a particularly good example of the uneven thing -- Steiner in Cute can't begin to make up for Lettuce, Keria, the Goddess and the Witch. (Although they evened that out with the best friend option.)

not saying that they are always equal, but usally when newer versions some out there is some kind of bonus, like extra marriage canindate. i just find it to be highly unsual that they would add a bonus for one gender and not the other when there is an option to play as both in this release.

well it kinda makes sense, shiba sort of becomes the counterpart for ariella, and will and suiren.
This leaves the witch without a counterpart, but I never saw her as a normal marriage candidate anyway. If you wanted to be really technical, I suppose there should be a "magical" guy for the girl player, but it isnt really needed.

Ooh, that makes me think, it would have been so cool if ariella and shiba had been rivals. Untame jungle boy teaches innocent nun to break free and find her wilder side.

well techinically shiba and witch are counterparts for each other from the oringal island game. areilla may very not have a counter part, but i just find that strange. if we look at all the remakes there is generally a gender specific bonus:

AnWL -> mirror, option to change cloths, extra menu after marriage
AWL:SE -> extra wife, option to have female child
MFOMT -> extra outfits, 3 extra bachelors vs just 1 (i dont know how even won/kappa/gourmet is compared to a harvest goddess though)
DS Cute -> option to stay married to mineral town boys, extra character, and the chance to be a lesbian

clearly the games aren't equal, but that's to be expected when you do remakes - there are bonuses. still in the case where you get to choose your gender it doesn't make sense to only give bonuses to one gender and not the other - maybe it's just me though, but it seems like doing that means there is specifically a defaulted gender for the main character.
