Water And Light points (How they work)

Okay, so i was just trying to figure out how light points and water points work cuz my crops keep on dying all the time. T-T.
First we have to understand how much each state is.

For light points:
Cloudy 0 points
Sunny: 1 point
REALLY sunny (As is really big sun on the bottom right screen) is 3 or 4 points not sure.

Water points:
Dry: 0 points
Watered 1 time: 1 point
Black sqaure (or REALLY DARK BROWN) : 2 points
Typhoon: 3 points

Here's how i think it goes down, on the japanese wiki its really hard to understand even if you can read japanese. Fortunately i can, but it was still really confusing and it didn't really specify how they work.

Right then i started a experiment. If you look on the jpnse wiki they have a list of all the crops and its light and water points.

Like for example:
2日 7光 3水
枯:25光 12水
Translating into:
2days 7 Light 3 Water
Wilting: 25 light 12 Water

All this means is that it need this amount of light and water. So for instance this is for the Tomato seed. The days... i don't think they really stand for anything. But the most important thing to take into notice is the wilting points. If you give it too much water it'll die, of course.
So this is how i broke it down.

On the first day i just watered it till it was black, so then thats 2 points. On the same day it was REALLY sunny giving it 3/4 light points. On the next day it was just sunny giving it 1 point.
On that same day i watered it once, since it said it need 3 water points.
THEN on the next day it was sunny giving it another point, then the following day it was REALLy sunny and it became a stem or watever. But after giving it 3 water points, i didn't water it anymore because if you water twice everyday, and there was barely any sun, it'll die really fast.

So there it is.

Also when it was time to harvest, if your first crop is like a B rank and you want A rank, try just leaving it there and let it sit. It should go up a rank, from experience...

And BTW for Sweet Potato, if you're wondering why it keeps dying, its cuz of too much water. give only 1 water a day and hope it doesnt rain. If it rains two or three days consecutively... its gonna die no matter what.

If someone thinks i'm wrong... tell me cuz i really want to know. I don't wanna keep doing this and notice that its wrong. :D

Sorry an update for my experiment (experience actually >.>)

Day 1(normal sunny)
Status : Harvested (A-rank). Back to "one level before ready to harvest"
Water : None (0)

Day 2 (normal sunny)
Status : One level before ready to harvest
Water : Once (1x)

Day 3 (Heavy Rain not typhoon)
Status : Ready to harvest (got B-rank sweet potato when harvest)
Water : None (0)

Day 4 (Heavy Rain not typhoon)
Status : Ready to harvest (A-rank of sweet potato)

i just came up with a theory, but i havent tried it out yet. but i think the 2 days to mean something. i yet need to try it out but my friend said that it is but im not sure.
so what i meant to say is that the 2 days on the thing, I THINK means that water every other two days? not sure...
