LP and FP help - comparison with other HM games...

I know from experience playing previous HM games that there is a gift "cap" of 2 gifts per day for each person, after which further gifts no longer add to the villager's Friendship Points. Is this the case with Rune Factory?
Also, does speaking to the villagers daily still raise FPs? or is it so slight that it's better not to bother at all?
Thanks in advance!

In this game, gifts effect very different. Some villager you can give Multi-Gifts, some other don't like gift (like Bianca).
And talking is same, the FP of all villager can raise up by talking every day, but some LP seem like don't effected by talking (Mei, Tori...)

(Hi, it's me, yes I registered! :D)
Thanks for your reply! It clarifies a lot for me
I've just got a few more questions...
Are Mei and Tori the only villager's whose LP aren't affected by talking?
Also, a lot of the villagers seem to say "A [insert name of object], for me?" - does that mean they like the gift or not, or are unaffected by it?
Also, when I give turnips to most of the villagers, they say things like "I'd love to get this at the harvest festival" - does this mean they don't like turnips, unless it's given at the harvest festival?
I'm so confused...

hehe, yup thanks, I've already seen that page. In fact, I rely on this site quite a bit xD
I just thought that the villagers would like more stuff than just what was listed on the site - like those are their liked and loved items, but I was just wondering if other items I gave them boosted their FP also slightly... you see, I have no kitchen/monsters yet, so I can't really get most of the listed "liked" items yet :3
I guess I'm just used to the old HM games where you could kinda gauge if they liked the gifts by the reaction they gave.. but the villagers in RF are baffling me

Hmmm... maybe I should just stop giving them stuff.... they're all too demanding for their own good!
On a slightly off-centre note ... has anyone noticed that Jasper seems to be impressed no matter what you give him... "Wow, weeds!"... "Wow, scrap iron!"... for a rich guy, he's sure easy to please... unless I'm taking his comments in the wrong way... =_=

Gifting is not a must in this HM, and you definitely can get most girls to 10 FP/LP without ever giving them anything.
Festival Days (ones with stars on them in the Calendar) are important. The first person you talk to on that day will receive a 1/2 LP (if they are a marriageable candidate). Every person you talk to will get 1 FP too. Most girls' LP is raised just by talking to them on Festival days too. If you browse through your calendar (or the Festival Page on the UNoT site) you'll see other festivals (Sacred Night, Moonlit Eve). Those two are very important, because they boost LP as well. Check the site for more information on Festivals.
