Testing All Hybrid Crop Combinations

I want to test the hybrid crop combinations for myself since I don't see them getting put up on the site anytime soon. How do I know that Tartan is giving me the right crop? I noticed that even after he has made something before, he still can have errors to make the same thing again.

Actually, Cher does have hybrid crop info out there. Here's the link:

As for Tartan, always save before you take stuff to him. Give it a few tries; he takes a while to give you the right thing. Hope that helps.

ok what I meant is the special 3rd gen crops. She does not have combinations on their actual pages, plus when you try to combine them, a lot of the time it brings you to a page where it says I don't know this combination. I want to do them myself, and I want to make sure that when I get a combination, it is giving me back the right thing, knowing that most combinations won't give you anything special back. A good example would be that a berryber + a tomaca makes a gretoma. If it failed it would be a berryber probably. So I want to know how to make it foolproof like she does.

I like her generator thing. But I would like it even more if she would either A) make a table of all hybrids, and what they are made of, or even better, B) name the crops that DON'T mix. That way, I know everything else does work, and I can discover their names and picture all by myself.

All I'm trying to do is figure out basically that table that you are talking about. She is not anywhere near done. I'd make the stupid table myself and put it up somewhere. I have a working javascript mixing and choosing utility that I very much prefer over php for one thing: you don't have to have a monthly hosting fee to use it and its way less confusing. So that said, I'll put up a similar web page with a table of hybrids if somebody will tell me a way to do each combination and know that it is right.

Hmm... Ninteno has stuff about this on their site too. Does this help?

Hybrid seed info: http://www.nintendo.com/np/harvestmoon/seedhybrid.html

"Rare tree" info: http://www.nintendo.com/np/harvestmoon/seedtree.html

"Rare crop" info" http://www.nintendo.com/np/harvestmoon/seedcrop.html

Yeah I've looked at those. I used their info to get my first set of the rare crops, but I want to test all the combinations so I know what everything makes, whether it is a rare crop or not. I know for a fact by working on it that nintendo did not find everything, such as one of their rare crops (I forgot which) can become another one. I reordered them to the combination of the original order of normal plants, so for me, number 7 could become number 6 (no it is not their 10 and 20 thing...that was 12 and 13 for me).

The Otaku site has all the combinations.

Argh they don't have a complete list either. Since nobody has helped me at all, here's my solution: Try each combination 10 times. Hmm well there are 784 combinations if you do each one, but removing all the dupes leaves 378...10 times...3780 tries to find out all the combinations. It would sure be nice if natsume didn't make some combinations be different things or make tartan still make errors after he's built it for the first time. I've seen Cher make some posts on here. What is your method to get them right Cher?

yeah I'm sorry about that. I was just a little frustrated that nobody knew what I meant. Yeah but, I am appreciative that you did try to help me out there. I think Cher is the only person who really knows the answer to my question though. She has done partially what I am wanting to do fully. I understand her situation with time. I do have the time to work on it, so that is why I wanted to know the best method. I'm kind of like a perfectionist and I must know what every combination can become (which can be more than one unfortunately...good luck Cher).

That's cool - thanks. :) I would be like that, maybe, but wow, where in the heck do you get all the time to do that? So many games... so little time.

Well, I've really got all the time I need to devise the best strategy. I can play my real file for a while (which by the way I am only in like fall 6, chapter 1...I do mess with a lot of other stuff.) You ever gotten any of the 3rd gen crops? I'm sure its common knowledge that you get to name them, but I found a big annoying problem...YOU ONLY GET 4 CHARACTERS! Geez, I have to call the peanut "PNut" and the Eggplant ummm "EgPt". Hey, I had at least 7 or 8 characters for all the people and animals' names. Lets put it this way with my time: I'm 18 years old, I live waaaaaay out in the country, my dad works weekdays and my mom works random days. I have no car, and without the proper transportation, I can't get a job. I've been done with high school since december. I'm bored as heck! Well, I'll be getting a car and a job soon, plus I'm starting college in the fall. Life can be on such a big hold sometimes.

Well, using the Otaku site, I got the 24 different 3rd gen ones. There's not much point in making a list of which ones don't work.

The one thing that wasn't there was hybrid #6, which I made with a "fast" Berryto and a Dhibe, which they had as #10. I made #10 with a "fast" Berryto and a Caberry. (By fast, I mean the one that you make with a strawberry and a melon)

Unless you have reason to think there are more than 24 hybrids, that is all of them.
