Can someone explain how to get more records?

Okay I asked this before a while ago, can someone explain how to get more records? I have the first one on FoMT, then you supposedly have to link (once you've bought the record) go back to AWL and buy the record there then link and go back and forth until you have them all...it hasn't been working for me...a little help anyone?

"The items you receive from the connectivity between the two games are based on your progress in both games. If you don't play through AWL, you won't get any goodies in FoMT (and visa versa).
