In HM: AWL Ruby was married to Tim... what happend to Tim in HM DS CUTE?

He is traveling.

That would make sense.

He was big and asian. He looked sort of like Ruby. Tim and Ruby were married and ran the inn on AWL.

I think 'polynesian' is more specific - there's a whole lotta asian.

but even then, polynesian is only the general term for a clump of pacific islands.

Actually, I always thought he kind of looked like a stereotypical Chinaman, with the little skinny mustache and the silk hat. He did look like Ruby, though, but paler. Rock seemed to wonder if maybe he was adopted or something, and Tim was always saying, "Can't a black chicken lay a white egg?" or something to that effect. (Except I don't think it was chicken--goose, maybe?) But you do kind of have to wonder how a Chinese man and a Southeast Asian or Polynesian woman came out with a fair-skinned, blond son.

Personally, I think he ran off with Samantha. Even Ruby is suspicious; she comments sometimes on how he's supposed to be traveling but he never writes. (Samantha was Grant's husband in the Wonderful Life games. She looked like a traditional Japanese housewife--almond eyes, bun on top of her head, kimono and sandals--but with hair about the color of Kate's.)

but in some of the random events, I thought Rock and Ruby got into it a bit and he told her off because she was mothering him.

I think it translates a little different in the english version though. This does make it sound like he's her son. But the english version says some weird stuff.

I thought so too until I played AnWL.

It doesn't really hint that he's their son in DS.

What about Rock's purple heart event? Doesn't Nami say that Rock is Ruby's son and he should be responsible for the inn when Ruby's gone? I can't find the link for the dialogues now.

That brings up another question... what happened to Samantha?
