You're confused about how it says you have to have all your tools up to the non-existant 'Mythril' level right?Moon Droop 43 wrote:The sites explanation of the cursed tools still confuses me to bits and pieces. If you could be kind enough to explain.

Nope. I know that. But the whole process of getting the tools. The designated floors, but a chance they might not be on that floor...so confusing.lemo_the_lemon wrote:You're confused about how it says you have to have all your tools up to the non-existant 'Mythril' level right?Moon Droop 43 wrote:The sites explanation of the cursed tools still confuses me to bits and pieces. one thing...
It has to be a sunny day to get the horse event. I got a bit confused as to why i wasn't getting the horse, then i saw the weather...LilithLilith wrote:While you're accumulating wealth, make sure you're putting a few things in the shipping bin. You will get Kevin this way.

Moon Droop, does this help explain the cursed tools, or are you looking for a step by step procedure of how to procure cursed tools? This is the reason that they are hard to come by. just let me know what's not clear.
Finding cursed tools can often be discouraging once you've collected a few. The reason is that every time you enter a mine floor which can contain a tool, one square is selected to be the "tool" square for the time that you are on that floor (meaning that once you leave that floor, a new square is selected to be the "tool square"). When you find the "tool square," there are 7 possible results: watering can, hoe, sickle, axe, hammer, fishing pole, and nothing. Since you cannot collect more than one tool, if you find a square that would normally produce a tool that you already have, it will appear as a "no tool" square. so, once you have collected 5 cursed tools, you only have a one in seven chance of finding the last cursed tool.

Hmm it helps clear things up a bit.
I thought that if a floor was marked as "A tool giving" floor then no matter what there would be a tool on that floor. But it appears not.
So on the marked floors there can be a tool, or not? Do you have to clear the entire floor to get a tool (smash all stones, kill all monsters, till all ground once the first is done?)

if you have no cursed tools, a tool giving floor has a 1 in 7 chance of not giving a tool. if you have 5 cursed tools (two left), a tool giving floor has a 5 in 7 change of not giving a tool, so it gets harder as you collect them.Moon Droop 43 wrote:Hmm it helps clear things up a bit.

You don't need to clear the entire floor of rocks or monsters in order to uncover a tool square- it just helps if you do it that way. of course, I would recommend saving as soon as you enter the floor, then kill all the monsters, then save, then till all of the available squares, then save, then smash the rocks and till those squares- all without stepping anywhere that is not tilled. Holes can push you to another floor and they are a pain to come across if you've half excavated the floor. additionally, if you save to the second file while you're on the floor above the tool giving floor, if the tool floor doesn't give you a tool the first time, you can reload the second file then descend to the tool floor and try again.
