I've seen it on 2-3 sites. Certain things boost a girls heart rate a little.

Popuri: Buy chickens

Yeah, the blue feather would increase her points, but it's not a practical method. You should just keep giving her wine and such, and just know that every time your buying seeds or cooking materials that she is getting upped by it. That's how I got her from purple to blue, I was buying chocolates so I could befriend her parents, and it upped her to blue after about 3 days in game time.
It's not necessary to buy 8 chickens but like they all mentioned, it's just an extra love point. I heard that if you name one of your chickens Popuri, she'll be more happy too.
