...is it true that only the first gift you give a girl raises her affection?

And if that's true, does it apply to all the villagers or the girls only?

I've seen debate about this, but I'm a firm believer that it isn't true - you can give girls multiple gifts each day and they will all raise her affection level. It basically all boils down to whether or not you've seen a girl's heart level change after the second or third gift, and not just the first. And I'm almost certain I have...

So I think they all count. I think some people don't think that. But I think I'm right.

I gave ann 1 chocolate nearly every day and it took till summer second year to get a purple heart but then it took till winter like 29 or some thin like that my 3rd year till i could propose (stupid heart events)
after cliff left ,and my son was born the same year winter 7 i think

With girls, the 1st gift will affect the normal value & further items will affect indirectly. They have another counter for that. I haven't figured how it affects. but is like with the extra relationship points...

With townspeople, also the 1st item will affect the normal value but further items will affect 1/3 of the nornal value

That's what goroh's saying. That sounds reasonable, I guess...but those extra gifts definitely affect her in some way. Otherwise everyone who gave the same gift first daily would end up getting married on exactly the same day.

Well, time has nothing to do with the gifts, so you can give all the gifts you want to someone while the time isn't running. The best thing to do when you're giving multiple gifts, is when is someone's b-day, because b-days gifts worth 500% of the normal value & further items will affect 166% which is better than just 100%...
