Harvest Moon OCD -.-

Anyone else suffer from this...? I get so frustrated, because I can't seem to get anywhere in these games! If I feel like something has gone WRONG, I immediately start over.. nevermind that you have unlimited time! ARGH. This can't just be me...! Currently, I'm forcing myself to NOT go to every house in town and give everyone gifts daily... that routine seriously annoys me. And digging for jewelry bunches feels too much like cheating, and it makes me ignore my crops.

Well, all I can say is that, with these games, you can do whatever you want with your schedules.
You may even want to go into town first then take care of your crops for all you care for! It's a rather expansive game, to say the least. The choice is yours.
I find that these games do get boring for a while, but I think they can be a complement for my gaming soul after playing a hardcore game, like Persona 3. A game of sooth and calm, it truly makes you settle down after playing such a violent game like that.
Maybe you should try that to. Instead of restarting the game, put it down for a while and play something more exciting or different. After you get bored with that, play HM again and continue. Less than 100 percent of the time, I get excited to play HM again once I stopped playing a more violent game.
Balance, balance, balance, my friend!
However, to answer to your post, I never had that feeling with a HM game before.

I settle into a routine. Use my Tool Necklace and Tools, feed my animals, pick up forageable items, water my crops and go woo my girls/Daryl/Nina. In Winter, when I haven't got crops and weeds to worry about, I'll woo the other villagers.
Don't stress. If you don't water your crops first thing in the morning, you can water them at night. And take advantage of the Tool Necklace. You can use it indoors to do time-consuming chores like replanting, watering, weeding and clearing of debris.
Also, rape the Teleport Necklace. It'll get you round every house quicker and it's not too expensive.

I have major HM OCD. I, like you, save frequently, and reload as soon as something goes wrong.

I do that too! HM is so calming and it refreshing.
Plus, my friend and I are interested in the farming industry. It's good for our future
I never had that feeling with a HM game before either. Dunno how to explain it though

I LOVE the teleport necklace! I go around giving ALL the bachelors (except Skye) gifts at 6am. They're all indoors so no time is wasted and I increase all heart levels! I can do so much ina day I don't know what to do with the rest of my day...anyone who hasn't found the glory of the teleport necklace yet...GET IT!

You're telling me. But I don't use it too much now since I'm married. I use the horse and the Time Ring together to save time when foraging. I still use the Teleport Necklace to go from one hot spring to the other and back to the mine.
Umm... What's an OCD? ^^;

OCD? Is that trying to be a rhetorical question, sandy_ham? *can't tell*
Obsessive-compulsive disorder - a kind of disorder where the person is compelled to double-check or redo actions over and over. Sorry if you already know. I just can't tell when I'm this tired. -_-'
Dislike school for taking over my soul. *tries to go back to work*
Edit: Oops. *goes to fix it*. Thanks thejellofarmer. *feels embarrassed*

It' not obsessively

It's just obsessive-compulsive disorder.
I don't have a schedule, I just water my crops, pet my animals, and wander around town the rest of the day, or just teleport and mine for no reason.

It's not just double-checking or redoing actions...it's also doing actions to the point where it's obsessive. For example when I was younger and doing dishes I COULD NOT have more than 1 dish in the sink at a time. In fact if anyone put more than one dish in the sink while I was there I'd literally yell at them. THAT'S obsessive...
Other unexplained obsessive behavior would be having to get outta the tub before all the water drains or as explained redoing actions over and over.
Of course that's not me... >.>

Oh, I see now. Thanks for answering my question. I really didn't know what OCD was, until now. ^^;
So it's doing things over and over obsessively until you get it perfect or something like that.
Well, I'm not like that, but if I make a huge mistake, of course I will restart the day. If I litter accidentally, I might reload from my last save point. It's just a game, and if a day isn't perfect, that's okay. I sometimes water the ground accidentally or miss a spot, and I don't mind. That's why we save constantly.

I might reload if something happens with my long-term goals (such as, me forgetting to make enough seeds of a certain level crop), I forget to feed my animals before going to bed, or something as major. Otherwise, I don't bother. I save every night anyways.

If I think I've forgotten to give someone a gift, I'll restart the game... or if I don't like where I put my first building, or if I have another plan about "Oh, this is how it should be...!" Haha, I'm majorly OCD about a bunch of stuff (counting steps, needing to wash the dishes right away). Sigh... my second save file is Spring 2 for that reason. ; ;

Thats what I do. I've done it so many times,that my routine became a habbit! Don't worry,you will get it soon enough!
