Yep, but on their hatching day, they'll ignore the feed and just hop around the coop. But after that, if you plan on letting the chicken live, you must feed it, but you could also let it outside, but it'll get randomly stressed out, even without the presence of rabid dogs, I know, it's alittle wonky.

Keep them fenced to avoid that... I helps to leave your dog outside too help chase the wild dogs away...

I still don't understand how to get more recipes for my kitchen so I can cook, lawl. I've already got the diner and cafe upgraded and I've given them a few ingredients like the colored grasses and eggs, but that did nothing. Help?

EDIT: *facedesk* I finally looked and read the recipe sticky. XD

Um, I think he hates to be outside in bad weather as much as the other animals do.

What's the point in upgrading the feeders in the animal barn, coop, etc. Does it increase the storage capacity or does it keep the food fresher?

Also, how much does the supply shed hold and what does it hold when you upgrade it?

EDIT: Also, does the freshness of the animal food have any impact on their happiness or anything?

Thanks for your replies last time, but now Chi's got another one!

Are there any 'random' events on this game? Those little cutscenes that showed glimmers of the villagers personality and interactions? I only see heart events and festivals listed on the Fogu-site

I got a kind of weird question, do Red/Blue Wonderful upgraded Hoes let you dig more in the mine? Its been itching at me cause theyve actually randomized the floors in the mine so finding stairs is a chore and my first winter is rollin thru so I wanted to 'plan' my tools so I dont have to juggle Wonderfuls.

Oh and im pretty sure you need to feed chicks (not on the day they hatch) cause I forgot once and its stress bar went up almost 1/4th of the way, and am I doing something wrong because I read a few of you say put them outside but my game says they can not go outside when I try to leave with them.

thanks for the help!

they only give you more stamina to dig with
you need to feed chicks, they're just already fed when you first get them.

I was under the impression the Red increased the vertical reach while Blue increased the horizontal. (in essence they do save you stamina by reducing your work)

Its been a while since I've played a HM game but I dont ever remember the upgraded tools allowing you to dig/smash more than one square. So im curious to know if thats been changed with all of the other overhauls.
