I've got the glitch as well. I was considering marrying Calvin before I read about it, and hoped that the glitch wouldn't affect me, but alas.
I was hoping when I opened this topic that there would be some news on the issue. I am glad to know that Natsume is working on it though.

The fan hacking would most likely only happen if you had the Homebrew Channel...

My apologies, I phrased that badly. And yes, it is insanely unlikely & nutso optimistic, but I tend to be that way. Games that do not connect to the internet, but are available on the computer, are often patched. Why not apply that to the Wii version? (And against the DS reasoning, well, the Nintendo Channel & Internet Channel/Browser isn't out until the NDSi, but they are out for the Wii, plus the original DS & DS Lite didn't allow for WPA internet security.) But really, I know it's insanely optimistic. But still, expect the worst and hope for the best, right? :) Come on Calvin fans, don't lose hope! :lala:

That may be, but it couldn't patch the disc, it would only be able patch a save file. I think it would be in their best interest to just send out a new copy of the game rather than attempt to patch a save file. Patches done over the computer are different, because from games they are ripped from their Very Bad Thing™ or ISO images, therefore they could easily burn a patched copy onto a disc, in order for it to work by patching the disc, the ISO image would have to be ripped and the patch would have to be patched through the ISO image, then burned onto a new disc, but since you can't play games on a burned disc, this method wouldn't be possible as of now. But sending a patch wouldn't fix the disc through the Wii, it would only fix the save file. If they put the patch on the Wii through a channel then the patch would soon be obsolete and eventually removed like most things, those who bought first copy of the game through a used game shop wouldn't be able to access the patch because it would eventually be taken down as they can't have the patch up there forever, eventually the Wii will die as will all the things on their servers. This is why I can't see the patch happening like this.

If this disc had a special way to write to it that Natsume knew about, couldn't they patch it that way? Sorry, now I'm just curious. But anyway, enough on my silly idea.
