how and when do you get a horse and ostrige (sp?) in harvest moon tree of tranquility

You can buy them from Brownie ranch. You can get the horse when the ranch has updated to two stars for 3600 G and the ostrich can be bought when the ranch updates to three stars and can be purchased for 13500 G.

I think the horse is 6300G actually.

You get the 2/3 stars by shipping 5k/10k worth of animal products (milk, eggs, wool, silk).

It actually is 6300, as we've found out lol.

also, a little tidbit for when you do get you horse or ostrich. to mount it, you have to have a saddle (after it's grown up) and face it, press A and there you go ^-^

I do believe you can get an Ostrich egg from Chase at some point, and at one of the market festivals you can outright buy Ostinnaise. So it's not required to raise the not-so-little birdies for the plot progression. I, however, am a masochist, so I'm doing it the hard way. I have the little bugger. Just need to wait for him to grow up already. >.<

when does chase sell the egg and for what price?

He doesn't sell you the egg, he gives it to you. Either at two hearts or five... I can't remember which...
