Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar is a remake of the 2008 Nintendo DS game, Bokujou Monogatari: Youkoso! Kaze no Bazaaru, known as Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar outside of Japan. This game was first revealed as a secret title during the Marvelous Games Showcase in 2023, using similar graphics and assets as their prior game, Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town. More scenes were showcased during the Marvelous Games Showcase in 2024, with a formal announcement of the game during the March 28, 2025, Nintendo Direct.

The original DS game wasn't a fan favorite; Sunshine Islands had just been released earlier in 2008 (in Japan), and the lack of a standard shipping bin that was customary in a BokuMono game was a little awkward. Nonetheless, Marvelous decided to develop a remake of this game to follow the remakes of Friends of Mineral Town and A Wonderful Life, making adjustments for the original version's shortcomings. The weekly bazaar has become an interactive mini game, players can now remove unwanted animals from their farms, and improved graphics visually bring Zephyr Town into the modern era.

The Grand Bazaar

Screen Shot

Many years ago, Zephyr Town hosted a magnificent outdoor shopping center. People from all over would travel to check out the unique merchandise the locals sold every week. Over the years, the appeal of the bazaar diminished. Fewer customers visited on Saturdays to purchase merchandise, leading to the closure of several outdoor booths. Nowadays, the bazaar is not so grand.

Enter the protagonist, who responds to a flyer from the Zephyr Town mayor for a helping hand with the nearby abandoned farm, previously a cornerstone of the bazaar with its farm-fresh goods. Mayor Felix has the ambition and the attitude to revitalize the town's weekend market. He just needs a little bit of farming oomph to make it happen. Players will work the fields to grow crops and raise animals, with the products reserved for selling on Saturdays. Players can expand their market inventory options with bugs, fish, cooked meals, and other goodies to entice a variety of customers to the player's booth.

Sell lots of goodies, improve the popularity of the bazaar, entice merchants to return, and bring Felix's dream to life. Or his obsession. Depends on how you interpret his infatuation.

Gameplay Elements

This Bokumono game has a standard four seasons = one year gameplay cycle. Optimally, items to sell are held back until the weekly bazaar, which runs in two sessions: morning and afternoon. Sell what you can during the morning, take a break to shop at the bazaar yourself, and then take another whack at making a profit during the afternoon session.

Zephyr Town is also home to a variety of folks, some who work at the bazaar and some who work non-bazaary jobs. Players can participate in festivals, raise friendships, and possibly find a special someone to marry and start a family of their own. There are 12 candidates available to woo, though you can only marry one of them!
