So, I'm making one. There's good and bad things to this, though. The worst is that this is being made while I'm playing the game. Don't worry, it'll be complete. So without any further adieu... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ B: Walkthrough ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 1: The Outset ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ______________________________________________________________________________ Crysta ______________________________________________________________________________ First off, before you do anything, watch the intro...: ALL OF IT! That means: don't push start when it tells you to, push start when you see something you've already seen before (the red planet.) Now, push start and name your character (the default is Ark, and that's what I'll be referring to him as). Push start, and a small cut scene will start. Basically, Ark is having a bad dream over and over again, and can't do anything about it. When Elle leaves, go right to the table. On the table is a book. Stand in front of the book and push the "A" button. This will bring up a save screen, one of the most important screens of the game. Push A to save and then go down to the next room. Talk to the two men. Then go down again. Talk to the woman, she wants a pot. Try picking up the pot by pushing A, and give it to her. No matter what you do, you will throw it and break it. Go to the bottom of the table and push A to eat the apples. Next, go left. Talk to the man, and then try going down. The man tells Ark that the elder is looking for him. So go up. Once again, talk to the men. Walk by the blue door. You can't do anything to it now, though. For some more dialogue, try throwing a pot. Then go up into the elder's room. In the room, the elder (damn he looks old!) will tell you to come over to him. Do as he says. Walk up right next to him and talk to him. He will talk about what happened during the intro (the chickens, and the pumpkins), and your first choice will come up. You have the choice to apologize, or make an excuse. If you make an excuse, he will get mad and order you to apologize to the weavers. If you apologize (recommended), the elder will be nicer, but still tell you that if you really mean it, you should apologize to the weavers. If you don't know where the weaver's house is, just talk to the elder again, and ask about the w's. Then leave by going down. Before you leave the house (in the room that "elder's" pops up), talk to the man to find out something about crystal blue. Then leave the house. Once you're outside the house, you should go around and talk to everybody. Avoid going into the house north of the elder's (the one with the two girls standing by the door) until the end. Go into all of the other houses, where you will learn many things about crystal blue, magic, magirock, and your attitude. Make sure you visit the house at the bottom left side of the village (the fortune teller's), and get your fortune told. It's free, so you don't have to worry about cost. At this point, the fortune teller will only tell about your attitude, but later she will be important. After you visit all the houses, and talk to all the people, go to the house north of the elder's. In the house, talk to Elle (the one with the red hair) first. Then, talk to the woman on the left side of the table. She will give you two choices: Apologize, or leave. The second is self explanitory, and won't let you advance in the game, so you should apologize. The weaver will forgive you, and Elle will have something different to say. Now, go to the elder's again. Go back and save your game (make sure to go right first!). When you are finished saving, go to the room with the blue door (the room right before the elder's room). The men will be circled around the door, trying to open it. They can't and ask you to. If you say no, they will ask you again. If you say no for a second time, they will try again, and disappear forever. So choose yes. Pick up a pot on the left side of the room, and stand in front of the guy that's standing in front of the blue door. Throw the pot, and a crack will appear on the door. Now do the same thing with a second pot, and the door will disappear. A transparent square will circle, and a voice will sound out. The men all chicken out (stomach ache, headache, better go...:) ), and you are left to go into the door. So do it. Inside is self explanitory, just keep going left into the doorway that you didn't come from until there is a passageway leading south. Go south to see another transparent square, and a box in the middle of it. Go towards the box, and try to touch it. You will be knocked back, and the voice will tell you to calm your spirit and try again. Go and touch the box again, and Yomi will appear. He will tell a little about the box, and give you a tour of what's inside. Then he will hear a sound, and you will be taken out of the box. Elle will come up to you, and say that she was worried, and that she has a feeling that something will happen, and you two will be split apart. All of a sudden, she will become frozen! You blame Yomi, but he denies it, and says that the elder might know something about what's going on. Go back upstairs the way you came and head right. Go back to your room and save your game. Then make for the front door. At the front door is the elder. He will make a couple of pissed off remarks, and then ask you if you want to make things right. It doesn't matter what your answer is as long as you tell him you want to make them right in his room. Go to his room. When you get to the elder's room, talk to the elder, and he will ask if you have changed your mind (if you said no earlier). He will then tell you about five towers that must be conqured to restore the citizens. The towers are outside the village, so you are excited about this. Talk to the elder again, and say you're tired. He will completly restore your HP (Hit Points). This is important to remember. Go to the front of one of the chests and push A. The elder will now let you take what's inside. Take both chests, which contain a S. Bulb and 50 gems. Now push Select to go into the box. Go to the armor door. Go to the clothes that are on the upper left tile. Push A, and answer Yes to equip them. Now go to the weapon door, and do the same thing to equip the cry spear. Push Select again to exit the box. Now go outside, and into the merchant's house (go east from the elder's, first door you see.) Buy two M. Bulbs and leave. Now go to the fortune teller's and have your fortune told. It won't make sense right now, but it does give a hint. Next go back into the elder's and save your game in your room. Leave the elder's house, and go south, past the gate, to the begining of your journey... ______________________________________________________________________________ Outside ______________________________________________________________________________ Let me explain something about the outside. The top part that looks like the bottom of a giant ball is Crystal Blue (it's really earth!). The little thing wrapped in a red cape is you. The red stuff is lava. White is either a path, or snow. Grey is mountains (duh). So, go south, and follow the path southwest until you come to a big black and brown dunce cap. This is the first tower. Walk up to it, and get ready for some fun! ________________________________________________________________________ Tower # 1 ________________________________________________________________________ The towers are the first actual "fighting" parts of the game. They will be hard (at least at first), and are mainly put in the game to show what the rest of the game is going to be like. If you haven't already, push select and go into the center room of the box. Once inside, you should read the battle stratagies and guide on the bookshelves (just move Yomi over the shelves, and push A). This helps explain some of the basics (although not nearly in enough detail) of the game. Remember to do this either in Crysta, or on the first screen of Tower 1, because you can't outside. Now, on the screen, head north. A guardian will appear and ask you what you want. Answer the one that has to do with your friends, and he will let you pass. Welcome to your fate... Room # 1 ---------- You will be standing on ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Attacks ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There are many different attacks in Terranigma. Most of them are simple to pull off, while others might take a little getting used to, but they are all effective. Attack Name: |Description: |How to do it:|Message on Battle Handbook:| Standard Attack|A lunge foward with the spear|Push A | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Boss Strategies ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bosses are tough, hence they are rewarded with the name "boss." Here are the strategies I found to be the best for defeating these pains in the ass... Boss Name: |Where fought: |Weapon to use: |Strategy: Hueballs |Last room of Tower 1 |Cry Spear |Use the dash attack. Alternate going left and right until the first two are killed. Then go up and down for the last two. Cadet |Last room of Tower 3 |Cry Spear |Use the dash attack. Try not to get in front of them too often, because they will cast look, and you might become imobolized. Hueball Troupe |Last room of Tower 4 |Cry Spear |Use the dash attack. Just keep going up and down in a little area in the center of the circle. Avoid getting hit by the orange ball at the end, and you'll do fine. You're always going for the orange Hueball, but doing up and down will cause it to run into you! Shadowkeeper |Last room of Tower 5 |Cry Spear (you'll be happy you did!) |First go for the left arm. It will always attack with it's arms, and then shoot green things at you. Block the green things by pushing L, and then walk up to an arm and swipe at it as much as you can. Run back so the arms don't get you and repeat. Shadowkeeper (sans arms) |Last room of Tower 5 (after you knock off it's arms)|Cry Spear or Hex Rod (doesn't matter) |That wanker grows a stinger! But it's much easier than before. Just dash attack until it either shoots the green stuff, or the stinger starts shooting out green lightning. Then run back and block. Repeat until the head turns red. Shadowkeeper (sans head) |Last room of Tower 5 (after you knock off it's head)|Hex Rod (or Cry Spear if you're not at least level 6|Here's where it gets really easy. Just run up and push A furiously until the stinger gets ready to attack. Then run back. Now run up (if you're good, you can place a dash attack, and land at the right spot), and repeat the attacking. Poof! He's gone! Parasite |Center of Ra Tree |Hex Rod | Parasite (second form) |Center of Ra Tree (in the far back hole) |Hex Rod | Dark Twins |Top of |Roc Spear | Storm Master |Fourth Alter of Zue |Sticker |When it dives, use the dash attack. If a cyclone appeares (means you didn't hit it), run towards it so you don't fall off the cliff and take damage. It will drop feathers that will come after you, either block or dodge. Eventually (most of the time), it will call a companion who will drop bombs. Storm Master (second form)|Fourth Alter of Zue (looks like you're falling down)|Sticker | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Weapons ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What would an adventure/RPG be without them? Well if you do, knock yourself out! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oddities: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This section is just a random listing of weird and funny things that happen in Terranigma, and some questions and comments that I thought up while playing. They serve no real perpose in the game, but make it a lot more enjoyable and funny! Eat the apples in the room south of yours where you try giving the pot to the woman... Try giving the pot to the woman in the same room. *YES* those *ARE* big pink bubbles floating around all over Crysta. Ever notice that Elle looks exactly like about 40% of the other women in the game? Why didn't Ark just choose one of them? Penguins are always getting blamed for everything (especially in NeoTokyo)... How come the birds that fly you places are half your size when not on the world screen, but three times your size on it? Why can't you watch the three girls change... ;) When does Neo die? How would Neo die? Wouldn't the Ice Pick eventually melt? Wouldn't the Ice Suit eventually melt? Ark was asleep for three years after reviving the humans, but at least five hundred years went by during that three year sleep... The queen of Spain is a real PRICK!!! Worse comes to worse, the monkeys always have a theory... Rhino's are lazy! How old exactly *is* the elder of Crysta? "NO I DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH VERY WELL!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Credits: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Everybody who has played this game and longed for a walkthrough deserves credit, but here are some big names.
