The pastor of the Church is Carter, who actually doesn't leave the proximity of the place very often. Every time you walk by the Church you'll find him either up at the podium, in his confession booth, or outside watching over May and Stu. In the early morning hours he can be found outside in the graveyard area, but then goes back inside once the villager's start walking around.

When you go visit Carter he'll usually be behind his podium at the front of the Church. You can ask him to give a blessing (for free) and he'll give a little speach. When he's done talking he'll smile and send you on your way.

Carter is fond of Mushrooms and Curry powder, which you can buy at Jeff's Store. He's so fond of the little fungi that he keeps a secret stash of them behind the Church! Next to the organ is a locked door and most of the time the door will be locked. If you're good enough friends with Carter though one day you'll notice the door is unlocked. You will then activate the Locked Door event and you'll have easy access to Truffles and Mushrooms afterwards.
