Home Sweet Home is the second mobile-only Harvest Moon game released by Natsume; the first being Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories in 2016. The game was developed in partnership with APPCI (formerly known as TALBOT) for the global mobile game market outside of Japan. HSH is a fullsize farming game without microtransactions, download content, or requiring a persistant internet connection, at a price of approximately $18.00 USD.
The iOS version also has 61 Game Center Achievements to unlock.
As this is an offline game on a mobile device, the game's save file is also stored locally on the device. It is not sharable across multiple devices that support the same operating system. The game also requires touchscreen controls (i.e., no third-party controller support).
The game builds on many of the same mechanics from earlier Natsume Harvest Moon games, primarily from their latest full-console release, Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos. There are crop mutations, villager tasks, seasonal events, fishing, mining, and more, generally using the same graphic style as Anthos but enhanced for mobile. The game world is also smaller.
Over 10 years ago, the protagonist moved to a city far away from their hometown of Alba, a seaside town of farms and natural beauty. Recently, a letter from their childhood friend entices the hero to give up their city life and move back to their hometown, which has faced a declining population and general obsolence for a while. Over time, many of the younger residents have also moved away for better opportunities in the cities, leaving behind a rural town of older villagers struggling to accept their gloomy outlook.
Your childhood friend plans to restore Alba's happiness and recruits you to team up with them again for old times' sake. You'll move back to Alba to take over an abandoned farm and work towards changing the minds of the grouchy villagers, proving to them that this revitalization plan can work.
