Festivals
To bring in some excitement to Forgotten Valley, the residents will hold a single festival every season. These festivals are not competitive; rather, they're just for gathering together and enjoying each other's company.
Spring 1 - New Years Day

This festival starts in Chapter 2. Exit your house on the morning of Spring 1 to be greeted by Sebastian. He'll tell you that Romana is holding a party at the mansion to celebrate the start of the new year. If you want to participate, bring a cooked dish to the mansion between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. Any cooked meal will be fine.
Cook any meal using your kitchen, keep it in your bag, and talk to Sebastian inside the mansion during the festival. He'll ask if you brought something and ask that you hand it over if you confirm that you brought a meal. While you can select about anything from your bag, Sebastian will only accept cooked meals for the party.
Alternatively, you can participate without cooking anything. Tell him you didn't bring anything when Sebastian asks if you brought food. Then tell him "No" again if he asks whether you want to leave to fetch a cooked meal. The party will then start.
The party is mainly a cut scene of the villagers happily spending time together. Lumina even puts on a small piano concert. Eventually, Romana will ask to taste the dish you brought.
- If you bring a cooked meal, Romana will sample your food and compliment the chef. Her dialog will change depending on the difficulty of the cooked dish. For example, a Herbal Soup is adequate, while Obake Stew (Rare Crop 38 + Rare Crop 39 + milk) really blows Romana's taste buds away.
- If you did NOT bring a cooked meal, Romana will look around the table and appear disappointed. She'll then ask that you bring something next time.
After the tasting, Romana will thank everyone for attending and looks forward to the next New Years Day party.
The festival will end 2 hours after you start, and you don't earn any friendship, whether you brought a cooked meal or came empty-handed.
Summer 2 - Fireworks

Spend the evening with the villagers watching Charlie and Cole's annual sky display. There are two ways to start the Fireworks festival. The first is by walking into your farmhouse between 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm. The second way is by walking down to the beach during that same time. If you choose the farmhouse path, Charlie and Cole will come to fetch you. If you choose the beach path, the twins will be at the beach setting up their show.
This festival will change based on the chapter you're in.
- In Chapter 1: Beginnings, this is a date festival. At the viewing spot, the twins will suggest you ask someone out on a date so that you can watch the fireworks with someone special. Select any of the eight marriage candidates or watch the festival alone. Whoever you choose will receive +10 affection, except for yourself. You can't earn affection by watching the fireworks alone like the awesome hermit you are.
- In Chapter 2 and onwards, this is a family event with your partner, child, and Takakura. The scene and dialog that appears will change up through Chapter 6 (e.g., the Chapter 2 toddler will excitedly run around, while the Chapter 4 tween is crazy bored out of their mind.)
This fetival will end at 11:00 pm.
Autumn 5 - Harvest Banquet

Vesta will visit in the morning when you exit your house to invite you to this festival. She'll request that you bring an ingredient they can add to the community hot pot everyone eats. Vesta recommends bringing a product that came from your farm. You don't have to bring an ingredient; it doesn't impact any friendship whether you do or don't.
From 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, walk into the Lei-Over Inn to talk to Lou. She'll ask you to select an ingredient from your bag. Suppose you do choose a wild edible or fish (or anything else inedible from your bag inventory). In that case, Lou will give the item back and ask if you need to leave to fetch something from your farm. If you didn't bring anything and still want to eat, choose "Uh, I got nothing."
After Lou inspects and approves your entry, you'll gather with the other villagers to watch the hot-pot event. The dialog is the same every time you go through this festival.
Your Fullness state will be restored to full strength after the festival is over. Alas, you get no leftovers.
Winter 5 - Starlight Concert

Walk into your farmhouse between 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm, to turn around and go back outside to talk to Gavin. He's come to invite you to a Gustafa-led music performance under the stars. You don't have the option to say "no."
- In Chapter 1, this is a date festival. At the yurt, Gavin will suggest that the concern is more fun when you spend it with someone you like. Molly told him it was a great night for a date, after all. You can select any of the eight marriage candidates to listen to the concert with. If you choose Gustafa as your date, he'll put you next to him at the front of the show. Optionally, you can enjoy the concert by yourself.
- In Chapter 2 and onward, this is a child-free date festival with your spouse.
After the music ends, Sully will notice shooting stars flying by. At this point, you can make a wish on the falling star. It may come true? In Chapter 1, the wishes are limited. The list of wishes expands starting in Chapter 2.
