The basic tree fruit seedlings can be purchased at Vesta's farm from the beginning of the game. She always sells Rank B seedlings. You can increase the rank of the fruit a tree produces by applying fertilizer.
Remember, a seedling's growth time starts to add up at midnight on the first day after planting. You'll then earn half a day of growth for every 12 in-game hours. All trees and crops grow faster during summer and slower during winter.
