Bokumo Gender Poll and More 3oT Clothing | Posted at 08:20 PM 16 September 2016
This week Natsume announced a flash sale on Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories for iOS and Android. The game is 30% off (down to $6.99 in the USA) until September 22. Still no word on release date information for the PC and Wii U versions of the game. The latest player poll this week from the official Bokumono Twitter is rather interesting. The poll asked about gender and protagonist preferences: are you a girl and play as a girl, a girl that plays as a boy, a boy that plays as a girl, or a boy that plays as a boy? The results (7,155 total votes) indicate that most of those who voted are girls who play as a female main character, enforcing the fact that the majority of Bokumono players are female: Continuing on with information about clothing in Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns, the merchant shops in Westown, Tsuyukusa, and Lulukoko aren't the only places where you can get wearable items. You can also receive them as festival prizes if you win a veteran-class category contest or greater, from part-time jobs, from shipping items you've produced on your farm, or from completing special town rank requests given to you by the villagers. For the festival victories, the items are specific to certain festivals (e.g., you will only win the Ruby Cheongsan if you win the Fashion Show). The once-per-year Pet Show is the most tedious to receive all clothing outfit prizes from. For competitive festivals you've to win the easier rank to unlock the next difficulty level. Since the year 1 Pet Show only has the beginner rank available, you have to win that rank in order to unlock the veteran rank that presents outfits as a victory prize. It is unlikely you'll win the year 1 Pet Show on Spring 22; even if you own a pet by the time the festival takes place, your pet won't have enough friendship to claim victory. This means you have to participate in the year 2 Pet Show at the beginner rank again to unlock the veteran rank in year 3, at which point you can start to win clothing outfits. With a total of 13 outfits available to win from the Pet Show, it may take you 15 or more in-game years to unlock them all. Clothing items are set in the closet once crafted, so they cannot be traded to other players. With the game being heavy on the importance of pets, it is surprising that there is only one competitive Pet Show per year. You can win outfits from the veteran-rank Animal Festival (four times per year), one outfit from the Cooking Festival (twice per year), and several from the seasonal town Game Contests, with the awarded prize depending on which town is hosting the contest. The Fashion Show is only once per year (on Fall 22), but it is a little quicker to collect all the clothing outfits from fashion victories, as there is only 9 outfits outfits to collect. Until next time! - Cher (10 weeks to go until I can turn on the Fogu Christmas Light Extravaganza!)
