Sos:3oT Maker Machine Info | Posted at 01:21 PM 23 September 2016
This week in North America, Sony is having a PSN flash sale that includes Harvest Moon: Boy and Girl for Vita. The game will be $5.99 USD until September 26th. The sale also includes Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (Ps3) for $7.99 USD (awesome game) and even XSeed's Shantae and the Pirate's Curse (PS4) is only $7.99 USD. I didn't notice much going on from Japan this week. Last week a new novel about Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns became available for purchase in Japan (or to order from your local Japanese bookstore) that tells the story of the female protagonist's dream of running her own farm. There's a few preview pages available on the official Bokumono website if you want to check it out. So this week let's go over the variety of item processing maker machines that you can use on your Trio of Towns farm! All of these Farm Circles can be crafted by Ludus at his shop in Lulukoko Village. Just bring the required materials and pay a small fee to have one created. You can make multiples of the same maker machine, although each has ample room to hold 30 stacks of goods to be processed. Just like in the prior versions of the series, putting in each item one at a time will result in all items being processed faster than putting in a stack of items and having to wait for each one in the stack to be finished. There are 10 maker machines you can craft:
  1. The Flour Mill turns grains into cooking ingredients such as Cornmeal, Flour, Sugar, and so on
  2. The Sewing Studio processes raw wool into cloth with no need to spin or color it beforehand
  3. The Seed Maker turns the 78 crop varieties back into seeds, carrying over the crops' quality stats so you can continue to increase their quality
  4. The Pot Maker will turn eggs into Mayonnaise and fruit into Jam
  5. The Jar Maker ferments pickled goods and converts Soy Beans into Soy Sauce, Soy Milk, Miso, and Tofu
  6. The Milk Maker churns milk into butter, cheese, and yogurt
  7. The Wine Maker turns fruit into wine
  8. The Fertilizer Maker makes the same fertilizers you can buy in stores as well as upgraded versions of fertilizers
  9. The Feed Maker lets you craft food for your farm animals and pets
  10. The Liquid Fertilizer Maker will fill up your watering can with special water used to increase your crops' qualities.
Some of these machines will need to be used to increase the villages' ranks as you go through the game. The mayonnaise Pot Maker gave me the biggest trouble to create though, as it requires you to use 15 Thyme to craft it, which is a wild foraged herb only found on the ground in Westown during Spring, Summer, and Fall. Some herbs can be purchased from the shop vendors, but Thyme cannot be bought; make sure you pick it up when you see it. The other troublesome Farm Circle is the Wine Maker needed to help Westown, which requires 15 Coconut to craft, but you can't grow Coconut Trees until you've unlocked the sprout by shipping fruit to Lulukoko or by reaching a specific town rank with Lulukoko. Luckily you might be able to get around this by participating in the Lulukoko Fruit Festival, when you give fruit to the villagers and you receive fruit in return. If you happen to get a Coconut, put it in the Seed Maker and then grow it yourself! And here's the translated September 4-col comic from Nintendo DREAM: Until next time! - Cher (The weather turned Fall-ish quickly and half my tomatoes are still unripe on the vine...)
