Van admires the expensive art and other objects in Romana's villa. While he enjoys looking at them, there are a lot that Van would like to have. Romana wonders if the merchant implies that someone of her advanced age should have these wonderful things. Van denies he meant that! Romana tells him that she is just kidding. Romana explains that his offer doesn't matter; she can't part with any of these things.
Van notices a new painting he hasn't seen before. Yes, Romana confirms that it's very rare and not likely to be found anywhere else! Van is impressed and asks if she bought it from the person who painted the picture. Romana confirms she did get it from the artist who liked Ronet's art style. Van is even more impressed! Is this the same Ronet of the surrealist period? It's even rarer to hear that a woman artist painted this subject. Van recalls how Ronet's first apprentice was a man and asks Romana if he could look at the artist's signature. As Van walks closer to the painting, Romana blocks his way. This painting is not for sale, anyway. Van pleads with her to let him look closer, but Romana doesn't budge. She isn't going to sell it, so there's no point in inspecting the artwork. Van replies that he'll prepare a generous offer the next time he visits, then he leaves.
Lumina comes downstairs. She heard the entire conversation about the picture that she painted! What's all this nonsense about apprentices? Romana denies that she said anything about an apprentice (technically, Van did). Anyway, didn't she mention how Ronet was her favorite? Lumina confirmed that's true, but she still likes Ronet, not "liked"; Lumina is still alive, after all! Romana chuckles and tells Lumina not to worry about it. She'll let Lumina know the next time Van comes by with a lot of money. Romana chuckles and walks away.
Lumina is annoyed that she wasn't credited as the artist. She turns around and notices you watching the event unfold. Do you think she has a talent for painting? Sebastian then walks down the stairs. Lumina asks if he has a moment and then says her goodbyes while they walk upstairs.
Before you leave, you hear Lumina talking with the butler. Lumina has a request for Sebastian, but you don't hear what it is. You see Sebastian walk downstairs, tell you he has an errand to take care of, and then walk outside. Hmm... strange...
Option 1A: Follow him
You follow Sebastian to the forest, where Sebastian is face-to-face with the mighty Mukumuku. Sebastian tells the creature that he has nothing against them, but this is for Miss Lumina's sake! He then charges Mukumuku to grab their hair! Mukumuku quickly smacks down the butler. Alas, Sebastian's errand of finding the best brushes for Lumina has failed...
This event ends with you in the forest.
Option 1B: Don't follow him
Lumina comes back downstairs and notices you're still here. She asks if you like art, which you do. Lumina smiles, tells you that maybe she'll draw your portrait next time, and then goes back upstairs.
As you're trying to leave (again), you hear Lumina talking to herself. She was wondering where Sebastian went to search for paintbrushes for her.
The scene changes to the forest, where Sebastian is face-to-face with the mighty Mukumuku. Sebastian tells the creature he has nothing against them, but this is for Miss Lumina's sake! He then charges Mukumuku to grab their hair! Mukumuku quickly smacks down the butler. Alas, Sebastian's errand of finding the best brushes for Lumina has failed...
This event ends with you outside the villa.
