Daryl is giggling to himself. It's finally time! You walk over to investigate what the scientist is cackling about. Daryl turns around when you get close and ask what you want.

Option 1A: Oh, nothing really.

Daryl tells you to turn around and go home. He's about to start an experiment that could help to propel his research. You turn around and exit the lab.

Option 1B: What's got you so excited?

The scientist explains that he's currently researching lightning. He calculates that he can use lightning to power the valley for a whole year! Daryl must try a small-scale experiment first and plans to capture enough electricity to last him a month.

He shows you a metal box and tells you this power unit will be used for the trial run, and you get to be a witness! Daryl flips the switch on the unit. After several flashes, Daryl exclaims that the power unit appears to be collecting energy to store in devices under the lab. Unfortunately, something goes wrong, and the circuit breaker flips after a big explosion occurs, turning off the lights in the lab.

Once Daryl has corrected the lighting issue, he grumbles. He needs to make adjustments to his power unit if he wants to have any success.
