If you're reading, that means you're either interested
in this fanfic, or you think it's so stupid that you
need a good laugh to cheer yourself up. In either case,
Thanks for opening this up. I hope you've read the prologue...
(Note: The format of this story is semi-script,
semi-story...you'll see what i'm talking about...)
The heroine has been called to fortake an unholy quest
to bring back the memory of her beloved
But what will happen?
Will the balance of light and dark once again be returned?
Or will the world face another disaster beyond recovery?
Chapter One: The New Enigma
The tender Elle lays silent in a room. This room...Unrecognizable...
???: Wake up Elle....
As a glow of light passes through the room, it gently caresses Elle
and surrounds her.
???: There is much work to be done. The balance must be returned...
Go to Loire-you will understand...Come...get up now...
Elle: Ugh....
She opens her eyes and meets the eyes of another...Another young
girl...familiar...
Meilin: You've finally woken up!
Elle carefully got up, and looked dazedly around the room.
Elle: This isn't Strokolm...What happened...?
Meilin looked at her, and embraced her, as in a big hug. She was
crying...
Meilin: You've finally come among us...We thought you were dead...
Elle: What happened?
Meilin: Perel and I went to your village...To tell you of what
happened to Ark...
ARK. Now I remember...that girl from Crysta...Elle...
Meilin: We reared up to your house, and found you lying on the floor.
You were breathing, but your skin was unusually cold...we thought
you were going to kick it for sure...
Elle: I...have to go to Loire...
Meilin: You can't! You just woke up from a long coma...
Elle: Long you say? How long...?
Meilin looked at her worriedly.
Meilin: Nearly four years...
That hit Elle like lightning. To sleep for four years....
Meilin: If you're planning to go...
She gave out a long sigh.
Meilin: I can't stop you. But you must at least talk with the elder...
Elle got up, an walked though the long corrider that plagued Lhasa.
She came up onto the huge corrider, and at the end of the line was
the elder.
Elder: Ah. So you've finally woken up.
Elle: I'm sorry...but have I met you before...?
The elder started laughing at that.
Elder: Ha...Oh no Elle, you've never met me. But I do know about you.
Elle looked at the elder intently.
Elder: You walk on a road similar to Ark's quest. Both of you have very
different paths, but the result will ultimately be the same. Ark...The
hero sent to ressurect the world and unknowingly do the dark gaia's
bidding. He ended up destroying the dark gaia, and disturbed the
balance even more. Of course, that wasn't his fault. Elle-
Elle looked up from her thoughts at the mention of her name.
Elder: Ah, Elle. The heroine merged by her darker equal, to reverse
the very thing Ark has done...in his memory of course. To ressurect
the dark gaia...
Now she was in a wonder...How does the Elder know all this...?
Elder: The dark gaia was menace, but was in fact, needed. Without him
there will be no world to protect...
Elle: Excuse me, but how do you know all this...? Who are you?
The elder now looked amused.
Elder: Behold! I will tell you something that I have kept from Ark...
He went on a quest to reset the balance between the Dark Gaia...and
me...!
Elle: What? You...?
It came to her in a second.
Elle: That...can't be...
Elder: Yes Elle! I am the light gaia! As much as I want the elder of
Crysta-no! The dark gaia to be destroyed and kept dead...i realize
that such a thing can't be achieved.
Elle was amazed at these new revelations. The elder stood up and
sighed.
Elder: You Elle, in the footsteps of Ark, have been chosen to partake
this difficult quest. I...grow weak. As much as I hate to admit it,
I need the Dark Gaia to exist. I will become nothing, and this world
will be dead, and the entire universe will cease to exist. Without the
balance between both light and dark, the universe will be thrown into
neverending chaos and anarchy, and man will be destroyed by his own
hand.
Elle: So I have been chosen to do this...Ark did the same, and now
he no longer lives...
Elle thought only for a moment.
Elle: I've come to realize that I can't live my life without Ark...I
vowed to wait forever, and I will do that in my grave.
She looked at the elder and smiled.
Elle: I might as well go out dying by saving the world!
The elder now looked relieved.
Elder: Thank you...
Elle: But I have one question...If Ark died because the dark gaia
was destroyed...why is the Elle from Crysta-my other equal, still
alive?
Elder: Even I do not know. The answer to that question is gone,
because only the Dark Gaia knows.
Elle: Hmmm...
Elder: Well, you have a big task ahead of you! The only problem is,
what will you do? I will provide Meilin and Perel to help you, but
you must know what to do...
Elle: When I was asleep, something told me to go to Loire...was that
you...?
Elder: I know of no such thing...But you were told to go to Loire?
Then that should be where you go. Fate will periodically tell you
what to do.
With that, Elle walked away, toward the exit of the corrider.
Elder: And Elle...?
A momentary stop.
Elder: Good luck.
She walked out the arch of the corrider.
***
How awkward. This weapon...a spear...how strange...
Meilin: It's quite strange actually.
Elle looked up. Meilin was concentrating on the spear.
Elle: What?
Meilin looked at Perel.
Perel: That spear you hold in your hand....do you know the significance
of it?
Elle was now very confused.
Perel: You have seen it before. Trust me, you have.
Elle looked at it.
Elle: Come to think of it, it does look familiar...but it keeps
reminding me of a box...
The spear was recieved by Meilin, which she claims was found near
the hole to the underworld. Meilin looked at Elle intently.
Elle: This spear...
It came to her.
Elle: The hero spear? But how am I able to use it?
Meilin looked at her again, this time, more amused.
Meilin: Silly! Think about it. Only the hero can use that spear.
In this case...It's the heroine that's able to use it...
Elle: Oh my...I'm able to wield the Hero Spear...
Meilin: But that's not what is strange. You claim to have never
used a weapon before?
Elle nodded.
Meilin: Yet you use it effortlessly. You kill...no, more assasinate
evil with that with a lot of skill. I've only seen one person ever
to be able to do that...And that was Ark.
Elle shook at the name of Ark.
Meilin: It almost seems like his spirit infused into the weapon...kinda
lending his skill to you...
ARK. Oh...my beloved Ark...
Perel: No more time for thinking. Loire is ahead of us...over that next
hill...
Loire. That damn king...that's where it all started...I guess I have
him to thank...it brought me to Ark...
Perel: I'll go ahead and scout. Stay here, I'll come back to tell
you what's up ahead.
Elle: Are you sure you want to go alone?
Perel: Hehe. Don't worry. I gotta hone out my skateboardin' skills!
I'll be fine.
With that, he went rode over the hill, and dissapeared from sight.
Meilin: That idiot. He'll get himself killed before I can do anything
to him.
Elle: Why does he need to scout ahead? Loire is a peaceful town!
Meilin: Things have changed Elle. Loire WAS a peaceful town. You see,
the elder is losing his grasp over the world due to the unbalance.
He is growing weaker every day. The people over Loire got way too
self-sufficient. They looted the castle, and now all that remains is
chaos.
Elle: I have been asleep for a long time...
Meilin: Don't worry, Elle. Ark came out fine, and he started technology
from scrap. You, the heroine, Ark's double, shouldn't be able to do
any worse. Besides, you have us too!
Elle: I hope so.
Perel came riding up over the hill. He was panting, and was very
troubled...
Elle: What happened...?
Perel: The town! It's entirely deserted! Not a soul in sight!
Meilin: Wait! They can't go anywhere! The closest town is Litz,
and they are hostile toward each other!
Elle: Hostile?
Meilin: Yes. Loire's way of living goes entirely against Litz's way
of life. Harsh relations came between them.
Elle: Oh my...
Perel: Then there's only one plausible answer. They were destroyed.
Meilin: But that's not possible! Even Litz doesn't have a big enough
army to challenge Loire.
Perel: There is one way...Asmodeus has come back...
