Whelp, the Terranecare Saga will soon draw to a close. I just hope that everyone out there enjoyed this little piece of mine, and I'd like to thank all of you out there who dropped me a line. One more thing...

Chapter Eight: Reminiscent Paradox

How long was it? How long was the moment, the exact precise second when Elle had seen her destiny...?

*flashback*

Elle: Wake up! It's daylight!

Ark woke up in cold sweat. Elle moved back.

Elle: What's wrong...? Is there something wrong...?

Ark: I had that dream again...

*return*

Dream? What was that dream...? What had happened in that dream...?

*flashback*

Elle: You're leaving...Aren't you...?

Ark: ...Elle...

*return*

Ark had left...and he came back to Crysta to finish the Dark Gaia...and he succeeded at defeating the Dark Gaia...but for what cost...?

*flashback*

ElleL: Stay away from me! And what do you mean Ark is gone?

ElleD had a sad look on her face.

ElleD: Crysta, the clone of your village, no longer exists. You see, Ark went to destroy the Dark Gaia. He suceeded, but it was for a price. The entire underworld was created by the Dark Gaia for his own greedy purposes, including its inhabitants. When Dark Gaia was destroyed, all of his creations went with him...

*return*

That wasn't true...because Ark was right there...

Meilin: ELLE! SNAP OUT OF IT!!

A shock went through her body, as if she was shot by a gun.

Elle: ARK!

Elle jumped sideways and went into a roll. The blue hero spear blazed into the ground, and a dust whirl blew up.

Elle: Ark...what's wrong with you...?

Ark looked toward Elle, and his eyes pulsed. He flashed foward and took a slow swipe upward.

Elle: STOP!

Elle blocked it with ease.

DG: Don't waste your breath. He is a puppet for my strings-an empty shell of nothingness...except for his skill. I believe that you two are matched in combat skill...but the real question is...will you fight?

Elle gave off a short frown toward DG. Ark took his spear and thrust foward in a fury of combos.

Elle dodged one attack after another, but the spear was closer to her body as every attack passed.

Meilin: Ark...what happened to you...?

Perel yelled at Elle.

Perel: Elle! He can't hear you! He's not Ark...so don't hold back!!

Elle: (Ark...What can I do...?)

Elle flipped her hero spear with the blunt, flat side foward.

Elle: If I'm defending, I might as well attack...

Elle thrust foward with her spear, and met with Ark's. A wave of light shined out.

Perel: They anticipate each other's attacks...It's as if she's fighting her exact clone...

Ark hopped back and lifted the spear with the point up.

Elle: What is he...Oh my...

Elle stabbed her spear to the ground and lifted herself up. Then she did a slight "hand-stand" grab, and hung upside-down above the spear

Ark swung the spear down the medium level, then a blast of energy flew out of the spear. The blast met the spear, but Elle was above it, holding the bottom haft.

Ark?: Nice trick...

Ark dissapeared into a whirl around Elle. He flashed and blurred away from Elle's vision.

Elle: This looks like something Neodeath did...but...I don't see any glare or source of light at all...

Kumari: ...ugh...

Kumari had finally woke up from his fatigue sleep.

Perel: Elder!!

DG: Oh my...The light gaia has awakened! Too bad I stole all of your power before I left your body!

DG moved up to Kumari and gave him a short energy kick. Kumari was kicked toward Perel. He landed in a roll on the floor.

Perel: Elder! Are you all right??

Kumari: ...weak....so weak...

Yomi zipped in.

Yomi: C'mon Kumari! This is no time to complain! You're the Light Gaia!

Perel: Shut up Yomi! Didn't you hear him? He has no energy!

Kumari stood up in a crouch. Strangely, a white glow blinked around him.

LG: No....I should be doing something...

LG looked toward Ark.

LG: The Dark Gaia may have taken my energy...but I still have enough to do one thing...

LG closed his eyes and white streaks of light resonated from his body. It flew toward the outside space, and dissapeared.

Perel: What happened...?

LG fell over and fainted.

Perel: Elder!

*

Ark was still whirling around Elle.

Elle: (Ark...how did this happen...?)

All the images dissapeared.

Elle: Wait a minute...

Elle swung around to find Ark suspended in air. He took a short twist, and swiped Elle.

Elle: Ughh...

Two white streaks flashed through Elle's stomach. Two wounds opened up, and blood streaked out. Ark landed, and Elle fell to the backward. She flipped back again before she hit the floor, and landed in a crouch. She was breathing very heavily and irregularly.

Blood was still coming out, staining her clothes. Elle clutched her wound.

Meilin: ARK YOU BASTARD!! How could you...

Where was this place...? A more serene place, grasslands and trees. It was amazingly quiet. A white being was sitting below a tree, glowing radiantly. Who was this being...?

?: More quiet than usual...

This place wasn't as mysterious as this being.

Then, streaks of light was absorbed by this being. It shot into him.

?: A...distress call...?

The idea flashed into his mind.

ArkL: Oh no...

ArkL turned into a shiny floating orb, and flashed into the sky. It headed toward the northwest, where the americas were located.

ArkL: I hope I won't get there late...please wait a little longer... Light Gaia!

He sped through the clouds, and stopped right above an enormous hole. Then the orb shot down straight into it.

Elle spat out some more blood.

Meilin: She can't keep this up too long...

Perel looked Meilin.

Perel: She has to! Don't be so pessimistic!!

Meilin looked directly into Perel's eyes.

Meilin: The way she's holding her spear...it slows her down...She's only blocking well because she's anticipating Ark's moves. If Ark were to do something that Elle can't recognize...

Meilin looked worriedly toward Elle.

Elle jumped above a spear thrust, and did a quick flip.

Elle: (I can't keep up with this...I have to do something...)

DG: Your time will come Omega.

Omega, the master being, was almost forgotten in this battle.

Omega: Please master...let me kill her...!

DG gave him a devastating look.

DG: IT WILL COME!

Ark thrust his spear up, and Elle barely dodged the attack. Ark had his arms up...

Elle: (My turn to strike...)

Elle got the haft, and stuck the side of Ark's neck.

Ark?: ...

DG: HAHAHA! That's useless! He fears nothing...so he's impervious to all pain!

Although the spear connected with Ark's neck with massive strength, it didn't even seem to phase him.

Ark?: So unskilled...

Ark had reversed the situation, and Elle was now open for a massive attack. Ark sped the spear up. Elle twisted a tiny bit, and the spear scraped her side. She bit down hard on her own teeth because of the pain...but which hurt more...? The wound itself, or the fact that her one and only love was actually trying to kill her...?

Elle landed on the floor with a thud. Blood slowly poured out of her in a pool.

Ark?: It's finished.

Ark took his spear up, and was ready to thrust it straight through her neck.

ArkL: NO!
***

An orb streaked through space, and flew with blazing speed toward Ark.

Ark?: What the hell...?

The orb was moving with massive velocity, and both Arks struck into each other. Waves of blue light flew out Ark?'s body, and he fell on his knees, clutching his forehead.

Ark?: WHAT.....WHAT'S HAPPEN-AAUUUUGHHHH!!

Elle was bewildered, and looked toward LG.

Elle: What the hell was that...?

LG gave a weak crouch.

LG: Let's just say he's going through what you went through...again...

Ark?: AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

ArkD: GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!

Where was this place...? It was dark and had no source of light...except for the two bodies here, which was the only thing visible.

ArkL: What are you doing...? Why are you working with Dark Gaia? He's a bastard that you sealed before!

ArkD: HOW DARE YOU PROVOKE MY MASTER!

ArkL understood now. A black cloud aura surrounded ArkD. The light from his body was barely seen.

ArkL: You're doing this...against your own will...then that means he's controlling you...!

ArkD made a rush toward ArkL, and struck him down. He then grabbed ArkL's neck, slowly choking him.

ArkL: (He has to remember...but what can I do to make him come to his senses...?)

***

Ark? dropped his arms. His head rose up again, and it was exactly the same as before.

Ark?: A small nuisance gone. Now...shall we finish what we started?

Ark? jumped up and got his blue spear out, then went straight down to slam it through Elle's neck.

Elle: Good thing you were tranced out...

Elle did a backward flip and got out of the situation.

Elle: Elder! That's all you can do?!?

LG: I'm afraid he's suppressed his light side. The only way he can come back to normal is if he remembers who he is...somehow...

Elle was now very annoyed at this. She flipped the spear back to the normal way.

Elle: I'm gonna hurt you...just not kill you.

Elle sped toward Ark. Spear clashed with spear, and she jumped, while holding her spear point-up.

Elle: TERRA FLARE!!

She swung the spear down halfway, and an explosion of white energy blasted out from the tip.

Ark?: Pitiful...

Ark? took in some air, and swung at the beam.

*CLANG!*

Ark? had struck the beam like a baseball. It tilted directions, and flew by without touching Ark. An explosion erupted behind him.

DG: Omega...you may do as you wish.

Omega gave out a short laugh, and took up its wings. It flew toward Elle.

Ark? decided to go into a close battle, so he flashed toward Elle and swung at her. It missed, and again, metal clashed metal, spear against spear. They were jumping a lot...

Elle: I can't keep this up for long...AUGH!

Omega had punched her on her injured side. She flew downwards and hit the floor with a cloud of dust. Then Omega flew down and grabbed Elle, holding her into a sleeper hold (yet again...).

Elle: (Not this...again...)

Ark? spun his spear, and flashed the point toward Elle.

Elle: (What...do...I...)

Elle had tears coming out of her eyes.

Omega: HAHAHA! THIS IS HILARIOUS! DON'T CRY BECAUSE YOU'RE GOING TO DIE!

That wasn't the reason why she was crying.

Elle: (ark...you have to...remember...)

Ark? speeded toward Elle, this time aiming the point straight at her heart.

Elle: Ark...

She was still being held, she shut her eyes.

Elle: Ark...remember...that no...matter what...

Ark was close.

Elle: I'll always...

More tears flooded out.

Elle: ARK..! NO MATTER WHAT...I'LL ALWAYS LOVE YOU!

That snapped through him like a bullet. He stopped, and his spear was right next to Elle's chest. He fell to his knees again, and it seemed like he tranced out.

ArkL: HAH!

ArkL had kicked ArkD off.

ArkL: Did you hear that...? Don't you remember being loved by someone? Right before you left Crysta...remember what she said...?

ArkD was sitting there. The black aura started to dissipate.

ArkL: (It's working!) You're being used. No sane person would want to kill someone he loves! She has been waiting for you all this time...

ArkD stood up. The blackness was almost gone, and the light was showing more brilliantly.

ArkL: She still is waiting for you...she hasn't seen Ark yet...

ArkD was shining with light. Light...

ArkD: Elle...

ArkD looked at ArkL. ArkL held out his hand.

ArkL: She wants to meet you...so we might as well greet her together...

ArkD hesitated for a moment. He then grabbed ArkL's hand, and a portal had opened up between them. They walked in on either side.

Everything snapped back into place in Ark's mind.

Ark: Elle...

Elle looked at him and gave out a weak smile...

Elle: A..ARK...Oh Ark...

She was still choking.

Ark had fast reactions. He grabbed his blue spear and stabbed at Omega's head. Omega moved his head sideways to get from being stabbed.

Ark: LET HER GO!

Omega: You...you traitorous bastard!

Omega let Elle go, and when she dropped, Omega struck Ark with his big mitts.

Ark flew, but he got his spear and struck it into the ground, slowing him down. He eventually stopped from moving backwards, and then he landed on his feet. He rushed foward.

Elle was now behind Omega. She got her red spear and poked toward Omega's back. A claw caught the spear...Omega had caught it with his left claw, and he had his side twisted a small bit. Ark was on his way toward him, but Omega caught his spear also with his right hand.

Omega: Naughty little children...

Omega kicked Elle, and she was flying back. Then he got Ark's spear and flung it toward Elle.

Ark: ELLE!

Elle twisted around, and while she was flying backwards...

Elle: (This is going to hurt a lot...)

She outstretched her arms, and caught the spear by the point. The tremendous speed it was flying at made the spear keep moving even though she had caught it. The barbs on the point sliced Elle's hands, but the spear stopped short of her head when she landed on the floor. Elle dropped the spear, and her hands were a bloody mess.

Ark: ELLE! ARE YOU ALRIGHT??

Elle shot him a glare.

Elle: DOES IT LOOK LIKE I'M ALL RIGHT?!?

Omega struck Ark down with a swipe of his arms.

Elle: (Oh my this is bloody...)

Meanwhile, Perel and Meilin were just staying there, silent...

Perel: (C'mon Elle...calm down so you can concentrate on healing yourself...)

Elle shut her eyes, and her hands began to glow. The blood evaporated, and her cuts were all healed back. She picked up Ark's blue spear, and rushed back toward Omega.

Omega had the true red hero spear in his hand. He rose his arms up, and was beginning to lower the spear onto Ark's stomach.

Omega: An enemy is hated, but a traitor will die from reasons beyond pain.

He was lowering it even more.

Omega: So you shall die nice and slow...

Omega twisted again and caught Elle's attack just short from his neck.

Omega: And you...are but a mere nuisance.

Omega got the blue spear from out of her hands and flung it away. Ark slowly crawled away toward that blue spear...

Elle was being held from her body. Omega got the true hero spear, and raised his arm back.

Ark had a clutch on the spear.

Omega: How ironic...The heroine dying from the hero spear...

Ark: OMEGA! DROP HER!

Omega turned. This was the moment...Elle grabbed the spear from Omega's hand and stabbed it straight into Omega's back.

Omega: AUGH!

Ark had an evil grin.

Ark: The problem with you is that you're phased by too many interruptions. That leaves you wide open you conceited bastard!

Ark was standing in a fierce battle stance.

The grip on Elle was loosened, and Elle jumped out of the enormous hand. She rolled sideways.

Ark: TERRA FORCE!!

Ark sped toward Omega with unmeasurable speed, and a trail of fire was behind him. Ark flashed into Omega, and everyone found him 20 feet from Omega's back.

From point A to point B, a white spear trail followed after. Ark was so fast that the glare caused by the spear was slower than him. The silver glare kept going into a line, but when it went to Omega, a bunch of streaks were on his body. It blinked and flashed all over Omega's body, and then it was gone.

Omega: ckkckckkck...

Omega split apart into many seperate chunks, and then all of those chunks disintegrated into a white light. Omega was gone, and the red hero spear fell to the ground. It was undamaged.

Ark was still standing, but the blue spear crumpled to dust.

Elle: I guess it couldn't take the stress...

The Dark Gaia gave a slow laugh, then started to clap.

Elle picked up the Hero Spear and pointed it toward DG.

DG: How amusing! You actually managed to turn Ark back and kill my finest warrior!

DG stood up, and had his huge massive blue ball holding his middle. DG looked toward Ark.

DG: So Ark...shall we do this again...?

Ark gave him a frown.

DG: I held back ALL of my power that one time, but I won't make the same mistake again!

Energy pulsed into DG.

Elle: The battle has only just begun...

Well wasn't that a repetitive chapter? I had almost nothing to work with...If you're still interested, then wait for the almighty Chapter Nine...

Oh...and sorry for the massive repetitive-ness or the word massive... I did it again... (pointed out by galinstar)
