Whoa, I never thought that this would make it to chapter nine. This istthe final chapter in the saga, with the exception of the epilogue.TThat's about all I have to say...So I hope this series goes out with a spectacular finish!

PS: Let's just assume that the space in the Gaia Stone has oxygen...

Chapter Nine: Terranecare
***

Ark: Held back your power...?

Flashing beams of energy was being sucked into the Dark Gaia. His blue color begin to tinge into a reddish gradient.

DG: How foolish I was. One fatal flaw and I pay for it by being sealed of my strongest power...

Elle had grasped her spear and pointed it toward DG.

DG: Nevertheless...

A circular ring of dark energy escaped his body.

DG: Let's end this now...

And then with that, all three flashed and dissapeared.

Perel and Meilin looked bewildered.

Perel: Wha...what happened...?

LG: That little bastard...he transported all of them to a fighting ground, away from us, so we wouldn't be able to help...

Black ooze started to spurt up from the floor. It materialized and made exact clones of the trio...but they had weapons.

LG: ...and to absolutely make sure that we wouldn't be able to help at all, he invited some friends to the party...

Where was this place...? It was a vast blackness, with the exception of a trickle of light seen somewhere off the distance. SPACE...

Ark: Are we actually floating in space...?

Elle materialized.

Elle: This is...the gap in the corrider...

The red DG also appeared.

DG: Yes...reserved for what will come to be...

Elle, with her spear, rushed toward DG, but she was knocked back by a huge barrier.

DG: Let's not be hasty...Let me tell you of my plans...

Ark: CUT THE CRAP! If you truly are powerful, then you wouldn't hide behind a barrier would you?

DG laughed.

DG: HAHAHA! Do you think I'm that stupid? But the time will come...

DG pointed off into the horizon.

DG: Somewhere in that direction, the Gaia Stone grows, as dust by dust, bit by bit builds the immeasurably long corrider. But it will no longer be made of stone...but by human bones...

Elle: E...EXCUSE ME?

DG: That's right...after I utterly destroy you, I will use your pitiful little bits to build the corrider, and all people who do not obey me shall share the same fate as well...

A sphere of light appeared around DG, then disentegrated.

DG: COME...

Elle moved foward and took a slash upward at DG, but dissapeared. Then Elle felt a sudden block of pain shooting down her spine. DG had struck her in the neck.

DG: So slow you are...

DG blasted her with a fury of hits, and then finally kicked her away. She was bleeding from a mass cut in her belly.

Elle: ...No one....can be that fast...

DG: No one as in a person...but...

DG dissapeared again and Elle was knocked downward into vast space before she slowly stopped. She had been kicked again.

DG: SONIC BOOM!

DG had clapped his arms together, and a huge yellow sound wave sliced its way toward Elle.

Ark: ELLE! USE THE SPEAR!!

Elle made the spear level with the boom, and the sonic boom cracked and broke into a blast of supersonic sound waves.

Elle: SHHHIIIII.....AHHH!!

DG: Ark...oh, I almost forgot about you! I made sure that sonic boom wasn't as weak as before, so I made a little re-adjustment...! GAIA RAGE!

A spark appeared right behind Ark, and it exploded into fire. Ark forced himself foward in space, and the fire trailed him, massing into a more larger flare at every second. It went faster and faster, until it collided into Ark's back. A huge flare wave pounded into his body, mass energy erupting from every section on his back.

Ark did a slight flip and paused.

Ark: (catch my breath...)

DG held his hands into a charging clap, and blackness raged around his hands. The dark aura grew wider and wider, until it was a complete energy hole.

DG: Let's see you try to reflect this!!

He flung the huge orb at Ark.

Ark: (Is that a light orb...? No...it can't be...This is evil energy...)

The orb collided into Ark. Pain swept his body.

Ark: AUUUGGGHHHHH!!!

The blackness surrounded his body, and sucked away every bit of life. Soon, Ark started to feel very tired...

Elle: NO! ARK!!! WAKE UP!!

After Ark had lost all he can give, the blackness exploded also. This flung his body into the nothingness of space.

Elle: ARRRRRRRK!!!

DG: Hmmm...what a shame....he didn't even say goodbye...HAHAHA!!

Tears dripped out of Elle's eyes. She glared at DG with a very twisted and hateful look.

Elle: I'LL KILL YOU!

DG: Really now? Let me ask you something...Do you think what you're doing right now will actually make a difference? Either way, I'll win!

Elle stayed silent.

DG: You see, even if you happen to beat me, which is now impossible, you will never be able to KILL me. Ark tried the same thing...and at that time I underestimated him. He "Killed" me didn't he? Wrong...no matter what you do, a mere mortal as yourself will never be able to fully kill me. And Ark just learned the hard way...HAH! I'm unbeatable!

Elle had a mask of frustration on her face. Tears were still pouring out.

DG: Mortals have such a strange way of handling emotions...are you crying because Ark is now gone from your reach?

Elle: Partly...and the other half is because I foolishly underestimated the Dark Gaia...

She rose her head.

Elle: The thing I was waiting for is now dead.

She rose her spear up.

Elle: I should have died a long while ago...but the thing that kept me moving along was the hope that I'll see Ark's smile again...now all that keeps me alive now...

Elle dissapeared in a whirl of spatial dust.

Elle: IS TO MOP THE CORRIDERS WITH YOUR UGLY CARCASS!

DG: So fast...then come!

DG also vanished in a flash.

***

Meilin: No matter what we do these bastards just get back up.

The black ooze was a high soldier of the dark gaia, just below Death Gaze himself.

LG: Of course...it's a husk of dark matter...the most versatile substance in existance. No matter what you do to it, it will always form back into another shape.

Meilin and Perel shared their wounds, as blood dripped down their body.

Meilin: This is hopeless...we're fighting something that's invincible and has weapons...with what? A boy with a skateboard, and a half-dead Gaia.

Perel: Well it's not like you're an Elle or Ark yourself...all you've been doing is trying to trick them by making our images appear somewhere else...which by the way didn't wo-whooOAAOoo...

*CLANG!*

A huge harmonic resonance (which by the way is a sonic shockwave) filled the air.

There was so much pain in Meilin and Perel's ears that blood started to drip out from there too.

Meilin: Wha...what's happening...?

LG: This sound comes from...the corrider...?

They looked back at the entrance to the room. Meanwhile, the ooze weapons just started to vibrate, then their structure broke apart and flash burned. The trio ran out to the corrider, and a flaming ball of mass flew its way on it. It crashed, and dust flew up in the air, only to be forced back down again by the power of the corrider. When the dust cleared...

Perel: ARK!

Or what remained. His body hung limp and lifeless.

Meilin: No...this can't be happening...

The Light Gaia walked his way toward Ark, and grasped his head.

LG: His physical body maybe out of commision for a while, but his spirit is screaming with anger...Perel, Meilin, just wait here for a bit.

Meilin: Where are you going...?

LG: Into the very depths of Ark's mind and soul...

LG was then absorbed into Ark's head.

LG: Ark...wake up before you explode.

Ark's white glow was tense and bright. Another set of eyes were open.

LG: What happened?

Ark: I am such a moron...why did I leave that place...?

LG: Again...I ask what happened?

Ark had finally noticed the LG's presence.

Ark: The Dark Gaia flamed me out of there...why am I so weak...?

LG: Weak? Hardly. Even if your body is hurt, you are still lively and as strong as ever. You only came back here because fate wanted to give you something that you were missing...

Ark: (Missing...?)

LG: A weapon. No sane warrior goes off to a battle without a sword and a shield. Apparently, you have the shield...your body was strong enough to defend your spirit...but now you need a sword...or a weapon...

Ark: How can I get a weapon? No weapon has any effect against the Dark Gaia but the Hero Spear, and Elle has that.

LG: Just do as I tell you, and you won't have to worry about a thing...

Ark stood silent.

LG: Shut your mind from any interference or disturbance. Concentrate on something you want to achieve. But you must think of something decent and noble.

Ark: (Hmmm...I want to defeat the Dark Gaia...but no...it goes further than that...why do I want to defeat him...? Won't it start this entire circle of problems over again...?)

LG: DON'T BE DOUBTFUL. Just concentrate on something you want to achieve.

Ark: (Why did I even go with Elle in the first...wait...I'm the hero... and I went because...I wanted to see Elle safe...that's my goal...so I can live long enough to see her smile again...in a more peaceful place...)

LG: Ark...you are one of many things who want to defeat the Dark Gaia. Some may have different reasons...but it will all lead to the destruction of the Dark. They have goals too...so I just ask you to do this...keep concentrating...and be silent.

Ark didn't do anything.

LG: The creatures of our planet was ressurected to see you rise as a hero...and they all left you with wishes to destroy the dark.

LG gave off a tense glow.

LG: Let's start. Ra...father to all plants... hear my plea...please lend us some of your knowledge for Ark's goal...

Ra: The time has come again...
***

The LG raised his hands, and a blast of green came from nowhere, and formed into his hands.

LG: Kingbird...master of soaring the beauty of the skies...lend some of your cunning and speed so we may keep the blue sky...

***
Kingbird: Of course! I'll peck anyone who tries to take the sky away from all of us...
***

Blueness blasted in, and mixed with the green energy.

LG: And Liem...in footsteps of Neo, and king of all animals...please lend us some of your courage and bravery so we may never have unrest in your kingdom again...

***
Liem: Ark...it's time for me to owe you back for all the things you helped me with...
***

Red blasted in and mixed with the other energies...

LG: Ark...

LG held the glowing rod of energy in his hands.

LG: This is the will and wishes of all the animals and plants. You will represent the human race. Place your will and goals in this energy also...

Ark's white glow gave off some light and it entered into the rod. A white glow surrounded the blackness, and Ark...had finally woken up.

They were back at the corrider again.

Ark stood up from where he was laying.

Ark: What happened...?

LG: This...is what happened...

LG rose his palms, and white hot energy formed in Ark's hand. The whiteness took the shape of a spear.

Ark: I can't feel...anything...

LG: That's not of your concern...because I think that the hero spear won't work by itself if the Dark Gaia gets any stronger.

Ark: What is this...light....?

LG: The ultimate in universal weaponry. What you hold in your hand is the 'Ark' spear...a spear that represent all life you ressurected. It was designed to oppose against any who dare try to take life away...

Ark was awed at the energy in his hands.

Ark: So...how do I get back...?

LG: Well...they must be far away because I can't see them. But I do feel pulses of energy off into the south...

He pointed into nothingness.

LG: I'll just send you there. Let's just hope you'll find them.

Ark was now steadfast.

Ark: Okay! I'm ready to teleport!

LG looked confused.

LG: ...Teleport...? No...you got it all wrong. I can't teleport you to something I can't see...so I'm going to hurl you there...

Ark: WHAT? HURL...? WAIT...PUT ME DOWN...!!

Ark's body rose up a little bit.

LG: Good luck.

LG took all of his throwing strength, and a glow surrounded Ark. He then shot straight toward the south, in a streak of energey.

Ark: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

LG: I hope he didn't get anything to eat...it might just all come back up again.

*CLANG*

Elle wasn't able to land a decent hit anywhere on the Dark Gaia.

DG: I said that I would not underestimate any of you again...but it seems that I was just wasting my energy trying to fight you with my full power.

Elle was knocked back. Her dress was slightly torn, and she was bleeding all over her body.

DG: I'll just end your pitifu-AUGHH...!

Elle had took that time during the meaningless conversation to finally land a hit on DG's face; the haft had slammed into it. Black blood dripped out of what looked like a nose.

DG was giving off excited speech.

DG: I knew it was worth it...! I didn't even see you move that time...! Haahahaaha!

Elle reappeared in front of the Dark Gaia. She looked very serious and tense.

DG: Oh...so I see you arevery intent now...! I don't think we're finished yet...do you?

DG had almost missed another swing. This time, he grabbed it.

DG: Would you like to feel the power of darkness, hmmmmmm...?

Black shock erupted out of the Hero Spear. Elle gave out a cry of pain, as the shock kept on electrifying her body. Then DG swung the spear around, and flung her a few yards away.

DG still had the spear.

DG: I think this is yours...no?

DG the spear at her. It blazed toward her, but Elle reached out a hand and stopped it dead, easily.

Elle was breathing very heavily, but she stood up for another round.

DG: I see you can still stand. Although I am enjoying this very much, I seriously need to hurry and carry out with my plan...

DG had secretly charged another dark orc, and flung it toward Elle.

Elle: NO...not to me.

Elle swung the spear up and knocked it away. But this little maneuver cost Elle some split-second time, and DG rushed to her and grabbed her by her remaining dress collar. His other hand was glowing with energy.

DG: Time to fulfill this planet's destiny...

DG was going to force his energy hand straight into Elle...It moved back...and rushed foward.

Ark: IMMA COMMIN'!

DG stopped.

DG: What...?

He turned his head slowly...

DG: ...noooo...Nooooo...NOOOOOOOO!!!

Elle: Ark...

She turned her head also...and another tear dripped down.

Ark: TERRA FORCE!!

His white glow streak that was caused by the LG's hurl exploded, then grew wider as Ark flew his way toward DG.

Ark: I'm gonna slice you in half!

Ark suddenly streaked by, and the grip on Elle let go. She fell backwards into the nothingness...but Ark zipped behind her and caught her... holding her tight.

DG's body grew contorted, and suddenly split in half...just as he said.

DG: NOOOooooOOO NOot YeetTT....!!!

Yellow rays flew out of DG's body, and when the two split bodies slammed back into each other, it exploded into huge fury. The flame...although it was in space...was growing...

Ark: LET'S GO!!

Ark held onto Elle and they grew back into a white streak, as they moved back into the direction of the LG.

Ark had avoided being even slightly burnt. They landed back onto the corrider, where LG and the others were waiting. He let go of Elle, and she turned around to face Ark.

Meilin and Perel looked intently.

Elle: Ark...

*SLAP*

Ark: (Oww...)

Tears again came out of Elle's eyes.

Elle: How could you....? Why...?

She grew closer to Ark, and they gave each other a hug.

Ark: (Why...? That could apply to everything I've ever done to you... How could I attack you that one time...? I have no excuse...Why...? Why did I leave? Why did I go back to fight against the Dark Gaia again? Why did I even leave Crysta that one day...?) Because...

Ark hugged Elle harder.

Ark: I love you too...

Elle's eyes grew big, and she was finally calmed. She slightly pushed away to see Ark's face...a smile...

Meilin: Awwww....

Perel tried to inch away from Meilin...

Meilin: Where the hell do you think you're going?

Meilin dragged him closer.

Elle looked into Ark's eyes. Their face went closer...even more closer...for a kiss...

LG: No...it can't be...

DG: ....You infidels...

They were interrupted...and they held into a short battle stance.

DG: ...You dared to try to destroy me...?

LG looked at him also.

DG: ...The thought of you actually defeating me disgusts me...It's hasgone way farther than the entertainment that I expected...

DG rose up from below the corrider.

DG: You have tried to kill me again...but I will no longer be leniant...

He was in the air. Both of his arms outreached, and a spiral of energy pulsed around his body.

DG: And for all this........I WILL KILL YOU ALL!!

DG took his right hand, and swung up, causing a sonic wave toward Ark and Elle.

Both of them jumped opposite ways. Both were still ready.

DG had slightly altered his appearance. Instead of a blue being with a chain ball holding his body together, he was now a crystal-like being with energy wings. He had a long crystal tail coming out.

DG held one hand up, flat and upright. Energy gathered up into his huge hand. Dark electric shock waves bursted out of a ball that was forming.

Ark: (Can that be the Dark Orb again...?) HE'S CHARGING! LET'S GO!

Ark and Elle dissapeared into a rapid run along the corrider. They crushed the distance instantly, but were pushed back by massive force. They landed on their back.

A sphere of translucency surrounded DG. Then it was gone. The charge was now finished, and DG thrust a hand toward Elle.

DG: DARk ForCe!..!!.!

A triangular shock figure started making its way toward Elle with blazing speed. All things around the field of it started to distort and twist.

Ark: NO!

Ark jumped into a rapid pace as he got in front of Elle. The triangle pressed itself into Ark's chest, and he was screaming in indescribable pain.

Ark's mind went into a flurry of delusion. Paranoia and cold fear struck his mind, while envy and greed pulled at his body. Death was right around the corner, as dark-purple triangles twirled around his eyes, playing tricks on his brain. Then he fell.

Elle: ARK!

LG: Again and again Ark falls...but this time he wont get back up.

DG: That's exactly right...He can hear everything amplified an infinite number of times, yet he wont understand anything. He sees things in a different form of plane and coordinates, in such a way his brain wont understand. He feels things in such a way that texture doesn't exist. It's like all of his foundations in his brain has been knocked down, like a nuclear shockwave erupted in his body...That is my true being, my essence, my power. And all of you will turn to him, a soul in different dimensions all at once, and in a fate worse than death. That...is the Dark Gaia.

Ark seemed non-existant. He had an empty stare upwards, into the nothingness of space.

Elle: Again Ark...you moron...you did it again...

The 'Ark' spear started to turn dull and dark.

LG: NO! NOT NOW! IT CAN'T DIE NOW!

This was the first time that Elle had noticed the spear.

DG: It is now time for fate to take its toll.

DG lifted his hand again, and this time it sparked with blue energy. He waved it at Ark's body, and a lightning blast blew out from his hand.

Elle: NO!

Elle outreached her spear, and the lightning collided with her spear. She had absorbed the whole blast.

DG: Foolish...you do not even know whem you are defeated...that is what makes you inferior...

DG pulled a frown.

DG: I will cleanse the world of this inferiority. No one shall stand in my way.

DG held both hands this time, and a blackness was created between his hands. Light and energy circled around it, and the corrider started to quake. The floor was cracking...

DG: FATE AND DESTINY WILL BE MOLDED AROUND ME! ALL IMPURITY WILL BE GONE FROM THE CORRIDERS! ALL OF YOU WILL NOW EITHER SUBMIT OR FIGHT. EITHER WAY, YOU WILL ALL DIE!!

LG: Elle! Pick up the spirit spear!

The 'Ark' spear was a spirit spear? Fitting name...

Elle went to Ark's body, and picked up the now dimming plane of light. Then...something strange happened. The light was being absorbed by the Hero Spear. It started spinning into different colors.

LG: THIS IS OUR FINAL STAND! BE THE HEROINE ELLE!

The neglected Meilin and Perel were watching all along.

Meilin: Where's Yomi...?

Yomi reappeared and looked intently at Elle.

Yomi: Elle...you must know what to do...

DG was almost at the peak of his charge.

Elle: (I can't even go close to him without killing myself...it's all hopeless...)

***
???: Don't think that way!
***

Elle snapped up.

Elle: (This spear...is combined...with the hopes and wishes of all the beings ressurected...but how did I know that...?)

LG: That's right Elle! Use the spear!

Elle looked at DG, then made a tremendous power jump into the air.

Elle: This is my final stand...

She twirled the spear, and pointed it down.

Elle: Once again...I call on Ra, give me knowledge...

The spear glowed green, and leaves began to form around the spear.

Elle: Kingbird...give me cunning and speed...

The spear changed to blue, and feathers bursted out.

Elle: Liem, give me courage...

The spear turned red, and it shook with a roar.

Elle: Ark...give me my will to live and my sense of love...

The spear glowed white, and Elle was surrounded in a white glow.

Elle: All of the beings of Earth...good and bad, rich and poor, greedy and generous...give me the power of the hero...help me be Elle...and help me through this last stand...

Blue towers of light surrounded Elle.

LG: Don't...

Yomi: Hold...

Meilin: Anything...

Perel: Back...

Elle: TERRRRRRRAAAAAAAAA..........!!!!

Elle blazed down.

DG: NO ONE SHALL STOP ME! MY FATE WILL BE MADE NOW!

DG held his immensly dense force, and hurled it straight up toward Elle.

DG: My DArK ForCE WiLl REIgn!!.!.!.!!

The Gaia Stone itself started to distort and twist. The force was felt everywhere, as the ball raced toward Elle.

Elle: (This will be my final stand...) ........ENIGMA!!!

Elle was now a mimic of pure energy, as she herself felt like liquid, and she speeded down.

LG: This is it...

A white blasted tower speeded down, and a dense black ball speeded up. Both energies negated each other, as cracks and holes were all over the corrider. Then the moment...they met.

The blackness stopped...the light stopped......but the darkness started to be moved back. The top of the ball was pierced through, and black arrays of darkness blew out from the inside. It then exploded, and right after, disintegrated into small triangles. It moved into the light tower, and turned it blue.

LG: (She absorbed it...!)

DG: NO...THIS IS NOT MY DESTINY...THIS CANNOT BE MY FATE!

Elle: I have news for you...it is.

Elle sliced straight down DG's front side, and a crater was created on his body. When Elle landed, splashed of white erupted out of the corrider and struck DG on his crater wound.

DG: No...THis NoT mY DesTINY..........Chaos Chasm...

A white circle opened, and surrounded DG. He was torn apart, and then dissapeared.

Elle: What is that...?

LG: That coward...it's a Chaos Chasm...a portal made entirely from Asmodeus energy. Nothing can escape it...It does not kill however... It degenerates beings to their birth, and keeps it locked. He chose not to die...so he created this Chasm to save himself...

The circle grew bigger and bigger...

Elle walked and crouched next to Ark. She held his body in her arms.

LG: WE MUST GO! THE CHASM IS FEEDING ON THIS WORLD! COME! I WILL CREATE A PORTAL TO TAKE US BACK TO LHASA!

Elle stayed where she was.

Meilin: Elle-

Perel: No...let's leave her...she has taken her final stand...now all she wants is to stay with Ark. Let's go, elder.

LG understood. He waved up, and opened a portal. Meilin looked back, and entered the portal. Perel was about to enter, but he said something...

Perel: Elle...This was your journey...and I'm very glad that you allowed me to help...

Elle looked at him and smiled. Perel entered the portal.

Yomi: WAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! ELLE...WHY...?!?

Elle smiled at Yomi too, and he entered the portal.

LG: Thank you, Elle and Ark...the destined saviors against the Dark Gaia...

LG entered the portal...and it closed.

Elle: Oh Ark...I wish you can hear me...

A voice went through Elle's head.

***
Ark: No matter what Elle...I'll always hear you, see you, and feel you... because...I love you...
***

Elle understood. If the Dark Force had been any stronger, it would have killed him...but he was given exactly his limit...and that heightened his mind instead of degenerating it.

Elle: And...I'll always love you too...

Elle lowered her head, until Ark's eyes was only staring into hers.

She give him a kiss, and she held him...and in a way...he was holding her also.

The Chasm opened wider and engulfed them both...

Thoughts flashed in both of their minds...

Elle: Why do you have to leave...?

Ark: It's something...I have to do...

***

Elle: I can't kill you Ark...even when you were there like a baby... I could never hurt you...

Ark: ...

***

Elle: What do you mean Ark is dead...?

***

Elle: Why...?

Ark: Because...I love you too...

***

Was there a tear existant here...?

Elle: Ark...I'll wait for you...forever...

***

Their bodies were torn apart in the Chasm...yet a scream nor yell was heard. They degenerated in the hands of Asmodeus.

Perel: Well...I got the statistics you wanted...

LG: Yes...?

Perel: Lhasa is the only remaining refuge for plants, animals, and humans. It seemed that the Chasm stopped growing because its internal plane was used up...to put it frankly...it was full.

LG: And you're sure this is the only place?

Perel: Well...yes...the wave circled around the earth and destroyed everything. The water from the outer oceans burned up, and land was destroyed. Most amazingly, the Chasm stopped right around here.

LG sighed.

LG: Perel...

Perel: Yes elder?

LG: Was this what we were fighting for...?

Perel: ...

LG: ...Very well then. Carry on with your research.

Perel left the room.

LG stood up and looked out the window. There were trees and animals in a lush enviroment. LG gave out a small laugh.

LG: This is all that's left...

***

Meilin came up to Perel and pecked him on the cheek with a kiss.

Perel: Found anything...?

Meilin: Well...not anything important...but some things are very interesting...

Perel: Such as...?

Meilin: We found a bunch of journals with entries all the way through.

Perel frowned.

Perel: What's so interesting about that...?

Meilin: Well...they're all signed by Ark...

Perel: WHAT?

She handed him one of the journals.

Perel: "Today...I met Meilin. Boy, was she a handful...she'll never get away from me. Is she actually a pretty girl...? Or just an over eccentric brat? -ARK"

Meilin looked like she had steam coming out from her head.

Perel: This is amazing...This is a first-hand account of his entire journey...and if you combine that with ours, we'll have an entire history of the world...And the most amazing thing about it is that it survived Asmodeus...that means, if I write a journal myself, then that would mean that any survivors of all this can know what really happened...

Meilin: Perel...do you think this is the end...or just the beginning...?
