Coldpack Walkthrough | Legend of the River King Advance

When you enter the 3rd door and take the first eastern pathway, you'll run across a talkative tree. The little tree is very inquisitive and asks where you are going. After Kikku answers the tree's question he asks again where you came from. Each time you try to pass the tree, it stops you to ask a question. Kikku finally decides there must be a way around this obstacle.

On the way back you'll find a monkey sitting on the side of the road. He knows you got caught up with the blabbering tree and suggests you look for the small Chatty Bird. Even the large Flightless Bird who walks into your conversation is frustrated by the little tree that won't let him continue down the path.

Head back towards the entrance but this time take the western path. A sign on the path suggests that if you're looking for conversation to go to the Plaza. The west path goes to a dead end but you'll find a yellow Tree Nut at the end. Take the path north from the sign until you reach the "plaza", where you'll find a tiny little bird. Make sure you read the sign else the little bird won't be there.

The little Chatty Bird wants to talk with you, but Kikku thinks he has a better partner for conversation. The three of you return back to the talkative tree and you walk past while they blabber back and forth.

Snow Storm When you finally reach the village you seem to have walked right into a blizzard! No one will give you shelter from the weather except for the house in the north west corner. The girl invites you in and wants you to rest for the day.

The next morning the girl introduces herself as Doochi. She wonders what you are doing here, and is reminded of a legend about a boy arriving during snow storm. She explains that on the first day of Winter, the kids who went to school disappeared. The villagers feel that Panpet, the teacher, has something to do with it. Doochi also talks about Touma, a boy with mysterious powers. Every winter he comes to teach like Panpet does.

If you go to the local store the clerk will tell you that the local fishing lake is frozen. The river down the cliff isn't frozen but you can't get down there. He suggests that you go to the Inn if you want to sell any fish.

Touma appears Head towards the Inn and you'll find a Cook and a Hotelman. If you sell the Cook the fish you have in your basket you will receive thanks from both of them. After the Cook leaves for the kitchen, Touma will walk in from the back room. Touma explains that the missing school children have actually been turned into fish. He feels that the villagers don't trust him anymore. Touma comes every winter to teach but now that's not possible.

Kikku wants to cheer Touma up so he tells him that the two of you will try and be of some help. Touma thanks the two of you and explains that the kids are in the lake but right now it is frozen over. They are all still alive under the ice though.

Just east of the Inn is the sauna. Inside you'll find a man who says the hot stones help to keep it warm. Kikku confirms the stones are hot by touching them (ouch) and the villager begins to wonder if the stones might melt the frozen lake. Follow him by crossing the bridge west of Doochi's house. The sauna-man will be standing on the frozen lake but the sauna stones weren't strong enough to melt the ice. You would need something like a Solar Stone for ice this thick! It's time to take a trip back to the Oven Kingdom.

Go visit the King again and ask him to borrow the Solar Stone. He'll only hand it over without a good reason so tell him the story. The king will let you have the Solar Stone but only if you bring him a delicious fish from the country. Unfortunatly you can't fish anywhere in Coldpack... or can you?

Head back to the store in Coldpack. The shopkeeper explains that you can't get down to the river at the bottom of the cliff unless you purchase a Rope. He just happens to have one for sale for 500 G! Purchase the Rope and when you leave the store, one of the Barons will pop up to show you where (not) to use it.

Cold water fishing Now that you're down at the river you can catch a fish for the King. There are 5 types of fish you can catch in the river area at the bottom of the cliff. Any one of them will be acceptable to the King of the Oven Kingdom. Take one of the fish back to the King, who will trade you for the Roof Key. You'll find the locked roof door right next to Akira's room on the 2nd floor of the castle. Once you've gotten the Solar Stone take it back to Coldpack.

Go back to the frozen lake and Kikku will instruct you to use the Solar Sun. The ice will then melt, allowing you to catch the trapped children. You will find the 3 kids as a Brown Trout, a Rainbow Trout, and an Arctic Char. When the kids have been caught you can then fish for the Sturgeon, who will turn back into Panpet the teacher.

When you have finished finding the 4 souls who were transformed into fish, head back to Doochi's house. Touma is inside and he is glad that he got the chance to meet you. He will reward you with the Legendary Line and the notebook for the next country. Toumo says the Line is a very important treasure and now you should hurry and visit the next village.
