Part 2: Oven Kingdom

After you walk though the forest and bypass the annoying Baron's, you'll reach the next town. Oven Kingdom seems perfectly fine, but from talking to the villagers you'll learn something is going on with their economy. One of the residents explains that recently they've had to give a lot of money to the kingdom, making their own lives difficult. The king has changed somehow, and has ordered the guards to be more strict. Forget about buying anything since a new fishing rod can cost you 33,000 G and a Hamburger is 1,000 G!

Hiding the girl If you visit the Bar south of the General Store you can try to order a Beer but they only thing they have is water, which costs 200 Gold! As you leave the Bar you'll hear a girl call for help. As she runs up to you, Kikku suggests she hides and you all cower behind the Fish Shop as some armed guards run by. When they run out of sight, the girl thanks you and then runs off.

At the castle there is a guard keeping everyone out. If you really want to get inside, follow the castle wall to the south where you'll find a second guard. This fellow is easy to bribe if you catch him a Freshwater Ray. You can find them near the waterfall just south of the guard. If you don't have a high enough level to catch the Ray, just go back to Nushikiri and level up a bit by catching the fish there. You should be okey by the time you reach level 10.

Bring the Freshwater Ray to the guard to get into the castle ground. Just inside the walls you'll find a boy who said he saw you talking to the villagers. He says his name is Jimotto and suggests you don't get any closer to the castle because it's dangerous. Kikku sneaks past his feet and gets into the castle and Jimotto chases him in.

Getting into the castle Inside, Jimotto catches up to Kikku and scolds you for not controlling your squirrel. The two of you then begin to hear voices coming from the throne room. One of the voices says no one could tell he was a fake king, and the other believes no one else knows! Well now the 3 of you know, and Jimotto runs off to confirm with someone named Akira. Kikku wants to chase after him. If you do go into the King's throne room you can find a brown Tree Nut behind his chair.

Go back to the town and try to visit the Doctor's house again. If you try to go in, the Doctor will come out and stop you. Sneaky Kikku runs past Doctor's feet and you can hear Jimotto's startled voice from inside.

It turns out that Jimotto is actually the Prince of Oven Kingdom! Doctor says he heard the story about how the king was a fake from Jimotto. Akira use to serve as the king's fortune teller and the Doctor was the king's advisor. Doc thinks it's a good idea to consult with Akira about this new turn of events, who has been running around outside the castle without the "king's" permission.

Meeting Akira Outside the Doctor's house you'll find Akira. She believes the true king has somehow been transformed into a large fish. She has been trying to catch him but she is not powerful enough. Her ordinary fishing equipment won't work and a special fishing pole is needed. She tells you she's going back to the Doctor's house before she is spotted by the guards.

Once she leaves the guards appear. They noticed that you were talking to their suspect and they want to know what you are doing with her! Jimotto then makes an appearance and orders the guards to stop bothering his friend. Kikku thinks it's a good idea to explain to Jimotto how his dad has been changed into a fish. Jimotto is shocked to hear the news but he says he would take care of it. He takes the guards back to the castle.

If you go back to the Doctor's house and talk with Akira, she explains how she is a Shaman. The king really liked to fish and had a special fishing pole collection. Akira suggests that you head back to the castle and ask the prince about getting into the Fishing Shed that holds the king's collection. The special fishing pole needed to catch the true king may be inside.

Go back inside the castle using the southern entrance and head towards the throne room. As you enter the corridor Kikku thinks he hears Jimotto's voice from another room to the south. Follow the pathway to the guard's room where Kikku points out to you a secret doorway that leads downstairs.

Jimotto's in jail! Down the stairs you'll find a secret prison where Jimotto is locked up! Jimotto says the key to his cell is in his dad's room on the 2nd floor of the castle. Find the Jail Keys on the red carpet in the king's room and return them to Jimotto.

As the 3 of you escape, Jimotto explains that the fake king has ordered a fishing tournament to take place. This tournament is just a rouse to get a hold of the true king. Jimotto asks that you catch his father before the fake king gets a hold of him. Follow Jimotto as he runs to the southeast corner of the map.

The fake king is there supervising the tournament. Jimotto yells at him for using the villagers to catch the real king. Fakie doesn't know how the prince got out of jail but it's useless to try and stop him. Jimotto listens to your story about the special fishing equipment and gives you the key to the Fishing Shed. The shed is located inside the castle walls. At the bottom of the staircase inside the shed you'll find the Royal Rod, Royal Line, Royal Reel, and Royal Lure.

The big Piraruku The king is trapped as a Piraruku, a very large fresh-water fish. You can't miss this giant swimming around with the other fish. If you don't see it in the area you can go to the Bar to rest for the day (100 G fee) or just press the A Button to take out your equipment over and over until you spot it in the water. This fish will be a real battle so make sure you have full hit points. If you don't there is a good chance that it will run to the end of your line and get away. You don't have only one chance to catch this fish so if it gets away just give it another try. Once the fish has been caught it will return to being the true king again.

Once Jimotto and his father have been reunited, the other villagers will realize that the king they currently are fishing for is a total fake. The fake king tries to swim away to escape but he's a poor swimmer, and the aide makes a run for it. The real king sends the guards after them and they are caught.

The king returns Back at the castle the king will thank you for helping his son and the villagers. The culprits are now downstairs in the jail and for a reward he will give you the option to choose 1 of 3 items; the Sun Stone, 1000 Gold, or 3 yellow Tree Nuts. Unfortunately you can't have the Sun Stone so choose one of the other rewards. In exchange you must return the Royal fishing equipment back to the king's collection. The king says that Akira is back in her room inside the castle and suggests you talk to her before you leave. You'll find her upstairs to your left as you leave the corridor leading to the throne room.

Upstairs in her room, Akira thanks you for your important work and gives you the Legendary Reel and the notebook for the next land. She doesn't have to worry anymore.
