I'm finally done with painting the walls of my fancy new work-from-home office space. This cool 1970s-themed supergraphic stripe starts up one wall, stretches across the wall behind my PC (and Intern Captain's new floor-to-ceiling cat tree behind my computer monitor), heads back up to the ceiling by the doorway, and then flows back down towards the floor behind the farm'n game guide books and goodies shelf. A few weeks of planning and prep work made the stripe painting part go smoothly, with very few touch-ups required to clean up any paint bleed under the masking tape.

Doing internet research gave me a super helpful tip when painting this style of wall stripes. After laying out the design on the wall using painter's tape, painting over the edge of the tape using the same color as the wall base color helped tremendously to stop surprise color bleeding when it came time to remove the masking tape. If any paint bleed occurred under the tape while painting, it would be the same color as the existing wall! Apparently, that's the secret to a good, clean line when painting stripes.

Next office improvement project is painting and installing shelves for the cow figurine collection. That one will be completed faster than the supergraphic project, I hope.

I'm still enjoying my playthrough of Roots of Pacha. I haven't decided on my partner, as it's a toss-up between Touk and Krak. Though Illoe and Frer more easily gain friendship than all the other marriage candidates.

FS eSports Beta Branch

Farmers who play the PC version of Farming Simulator 22 now have access to the competitive eSports open beta build of the game. Players can try out the bale stacking and arena mode with up to six other farmers, either their friends or via random matchmaking, before the official launch next month.

Marvelous released its quarterly financial statement this week.

• SoS:AWL had strong sales from Marvelous' perspective, though the company did not confirm what those sales numbers were.
• The remake of Rune Factory 3 for Nintendo Switch in Japan was mentioned, but not whether it sold poorly or well. RF3 had dropped off the Famitsu top-10 list at about 19,000 physical sales.
• The sales trends for DEADCRAFT (a zombie farming game) fell below expectations worldwide.
• Marv also noted that because of a lack of title lineup available in the overseas market (specifically, North America and Europe), combined with the downward economic outlook, meant that the number of game sales is less compared to the same fiscal quarter in 2022.

Wada's Next Project

The creator of our favorite farming game series, Yasuhiro Wada, revealed this week that the Japan release date will be July 28 for the latest game he has been producing, the Nintendo Switch game titled Natsumon: 20th Century Summer Vacation. The game will be published by Spike Chunsoft.

Developed by Wada's Toybox Studios along with Kaz Ayabe of Millennium Kitchen, players take on the role of a 10-year-old boy who arrives with his circus family in Yomugi Town, a rural village overlooking the ocean. The protagonist spends his 1999 summer here. You can catch insects, go fishing, attend festivals, swim, solve the residents' problems, and explore this open-world area.

Millennium Kitchen is known for producing the charming Boku no Natsuyami (My Summer Vacation) series, with their most recent Natsuyami-themed entry being Shin-Chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation. The screenplay and design for this game were handled by Ayabe, and the game's characters were designed by Hyo Gonosuke, an illustrator involved with Pokemon Trading Cards, figures, and other popular products.
