The Ushi No Tane websites specialize in information, FAQs, and guides about the Nintendo console versions of the Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, and Legend of the River King video games. These game genres are created and published in Japan by Marvelous (JP). In other regions, you'll find Natsume, XSeed Games/Marvelous (USA), Marvelous (EU), and Rising Star involved in the series' release.

The latest version of the mainstream farming series that have been released in various regions of the world are:

The latest version of River King, in all regions of the world, is River King: Mystic Valley (JP 2007, NA 2008, EU 2009).

Since 2000, Ushi no Tane has been run by a grouchy old lady who happens to be fond of video game agriculture along with two feline helpers: Intern Captain Bootu and Intern Hondo Mewnaka. The website is not officially affiliated, sponsored, endorsed, or employed by the developers of Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, or River King. This is simply a fan site.

E3 2016 Showcases Farm'n Games! | Posted at 10:23 AM 10 June 2016
Happy farm'n Friday! This coming Tuesday will be the start day for this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, it-is-too-hot-here California. The global gaming community will gather to eat tacos, slurp ramen, and check out the upcoming games that video game publishers will have on-hand to promote to the media. At this year's show, Natsume will be showcasing their latest entry into the Harvest Moon series, Harvest Moon: Skytree Village. This Nintendo 3DS game will have you reviving the mystical seven Skytrees with the hope that these special trees will restore the Harvest Goddess' powers and revive the land surrounding Skytree Village. There will be new characters as well as returning ones, and a new long-hair animal called the Poitou Donkey. On the other side of the LA Convention Center, XSeed Games will be showcasing Story of Seasons: Precious Friends of the 3 Hometowns, now known as its official English title, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns. This Nintendo 3DS game is not out in Japan yet and now has a "2017" North American release window. It isn't know yet if there will be a playable demo, which language the game will be in while at the show, and so on, but we'll find out next Tuesday! Those of you with a Japanese Nintendo 3DS can now preload the digital version of Trio of Towns from the Nintendo eShop for 5378 Yen ($50 USD). The digital version will be released on the same day as the retail version (without the pre-order cow phone strap) and is currently 10% off in order to entice digital sales (4838 Yen, $45 USD). Once purchased, the game can be downloaded to your 3DS and its vegetable-themed main menu icon will be set on your lower screen. You can't actually play the game though, but there is a feed ticker that appears on the top screen letting you know how many days you have to wait (13 days!) until you can play the game you already bought and downloaded. There's a screen shot of the game's 3DS profile scene over on the Twitter feed if you wanted to take a look. Speaking of which, I'll be making another attempt at finding all the fun, friendly, and low-violence games while at the show next week. Natsume has been kind enough to sponsor a show pass for us again (Thank you!), so myself and Mr.Fogu will be exploring the various video game offerings that will be released in the future. I will try to post what I can over on the Twitter feed. In Japan, Marvelous has updated the official website for Trio of Towns to add a 10-page manga about the main character starting his adventures in farming. You can read it on the Bokumono website: Until next time! - Cher (I hope it rains while we're in LA...)
