The Ushi No Tane websites specialize in information, FAQs, and guides about the Nintendo console versions of the Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, and Legend of the River King video games. These game genres are created and published in Japan by Marvelous (JP). In other regions, you'll find Natsume, XSeed Games/Marvelous (USA), Marvelous (EU), and Rising Star involved in the series' release.
The latest version of the mainstream farming series that have been released in various regions of the world are:
- Japan: Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (January 2023)
- North America: Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos (September 2023) and Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (June 2023)
- Europe: Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos (October 2023) and Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (June 2023)
The latest version of River King, in all regions of the world, is River King: Mystic Valley (JP 2007, NA 2008, EU 2009).
Since 2000, Ushi no Tane has been run by a grouchy old lady who happens to be fond of video game agriculture along with two feline helpers: Intern Captain Bootu and Intern Hondo Mewnaka. The website is not officially affiliated, sponsored, endorsed, or employed by the developers of Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, or River King. This is simply a fan site.

Futago 3DS Release and Holiday Sale |
Posted at 10:36 PM 22 December 2017Happy Farm'n Friday! I finally finished the gift wrapping today for the remaining family members and learned the news that I'm hosting Christmas dinner next Monday. Oh thanks for letting me know, dear!
Futago no Mura+ DLC 1
The Japanese version of
Harvest Moon 3DS: The Tale of Two Towns was finally released last Thursday in Japan. A day-one patch is available from the Nintendo eShop for free once you have the game registered to the 3DS. The patch updates the game to version 1.1 and fixes some connectivity problems, although the patch notes don't specify if it is related to StreetPass or with the trading field hidden within the Goddess Pond.
The three bonus animal DLC is available from the title menu of the game by clicking on the little "Shop" house icon in the lower-left corner. The Wild Animal Friends pack added the Fennec Fox, the white Raccoon, and the Serval Cat as random animals in the mountain area between the two towns.
(Sorry, crummy camera pics since Miiverse was killed off... sadness... There are better pics over on the official website's
DLC page)
The three new wild animals are found in Bluebell Mid-Mountain (the cat), the top of the mountain where the Cooking Festival takes place (the fox), and in Konohana High-Mountain (the raccoon). These animals are, apparently, just decorative; you can't feed them any gifts/food to raise their friendship. They also already give the happy-heart icon when you walk close and pick them up.
Marvelous has already announced a DLC collaboration with the BanaNya banana cat anime character, but has recently announced
additional character collaborations:
- A collaboration with Hana Kappa, who appears to be searching for a yellow flower in the mountain.
- A collaboration with Piske and Usagi where the two friends want to show the player something.
- A collaboration with the penguin Kinbe from the manga, Bucket de Gohan, who seems to be in a bit of trouble
These collaborations will be separate DLC options available for 100 Yen each sometime in January 2018. The exact release date hasn't been revealed yet.
