The latest version of River King, in all regions of the world, is River King: Mystic Valley (JP 2007, NA 2008, EU 2009).

Rune Factory Art Exhibit, Deadcraft is Free for PS+, and PSN Summer Sale | Posted at 09:07 AM 19 July 2024

Happy Farm'n Friday! The scrawny seedlings in the wildflower "meadow" are starting to bloom. The whole area is still a giant patch of dirt, with lots of stunted sprouts mixed in with red clover, but at least parts look cute. Only when viewed close up, though. Sometimes, there is a tiny white flower or a blue cornflower, but there is more bright red clover than anything else. It would have been neat if everything had matured, but most likely it didn't because I need to improve at timing when to plant seeds.

Another light news week, though next week we have the release of two indie farming games: Critter Crops on the 22nd (Steam Store) and Ova Magica on the 23rd (Steam Store). Then next month, we'll have Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home, the new no-micro-transactions game for mobile devices. It may be quiet now, but it won't be soon enough!

It's also getting close to the Christmas light season, with the Christmas Expo taking place in Kansas this week. The interns have been helping choose new string lights this year, though I think they're more enjoying rubbing their faces against the cords and jumping through the nets.

RF Art Exhibition

graphicLong-time illustrator for the Rune Factory series, Minako Iwasaki, will be honored with a pop-up art exhibition at the Yurakucho Marui shopping mall in Tokyo from July 26 to August 4.

Besides displaying illustrations of her art, new RF merchandise can be ordered, such as small acrylic standees, keychains, posters, and handkerchiefs. The GraffArt acrylic standees will be available for order too.

For every 2200円 (~$14.00) spent during the pop-up show, visitors will receive one of four random Rune Factory illustrated postcards. Also, orders of at least 3000円 (~19.00) will be entered into a lottery to win an RF-themed prize.

Entry into the exhibit is limited on the first day (26th) and second day (27th), with tickets being handed out that note a time they may return to check out the exhibit. Open admission will be available starting on the 28th.

Sounds like a great place to meet many Rune Factory fans if you're in the area!

PSN Promos

The PlayStation 4 version of the post-apocalyptic zombie growing game Deadcraft is now free for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members, included in this month's PS Game Catalog offerings. In this story-driven action game published by Marvelous, players take the role of Reid, a half-zombie hero who works towards breaching the fortress-like citadel known as the ARK to investigate what happened to his zombie-hunting partner and best friend. You'll craft weapons, cook meals, and complete quests from the local villagers living in the nearby slum below the ARK.

The farming aspect in this game is the ability to grow zombie battle companions. Defeated enemies can drop body parts that can be converted into seedlings and planted in the ground on the player's home base. After a bit of watering and care, they'll mature into a full-fledged zombie, each with unique statistics and strengths that can benefit Reid's goal of taking down the bad guy holed up in the ARK.

It was a fun game when I played the demo years ago. However, our buddy noticed I was playing it on Steam and asked Mr.Fogu what was going on since zombie games are not typically something I play. lol

The PSN Summer Sale is also ongoing until July 31. This includes several farming games:

PoOT, SoS: FoMT, and Anthos are not included in the sale.

Until next time!
