Downstairs in the lobby, Griffen mentions how Cliff seems to be in his typical melancholy mood. He should be more cheerful! Cliff can see that Griffin is happy every day, so Griffin explains it's part of his job to be happy. You wouldn't want to go to a shop to see a sad shopkeeper. Cliff figures that must be true, but his lack of enthusiasm annoys Griffin a little bit.
Griffin asks if he lives and works in Mineral Town, and then suggests that Cliff go help out at Aja Winery. The owner is an old friend of his and he would appreciate the assistance. Griffen predicts that Cliff would forget about being miserable and find some happiness. Cliff thanks the bartender for his advice.
